Special Containment Procedures: Two exclusion zones have been setup around SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B named Area-A and Area-B respectfully. Two nearby villages, Shadowhurst and Blueborough have been converted into Site-376 and Site-377. Following Incident-Alpha, all civilians residing within Zone A have been permanently evacuated and relocated elsewhere within the UK under the cover-story of a severe chemical accident; the Foundation poses as Special Chemical Procedures to maintain secrecy and normalcy.

In agreement with local authority, all access roads into Zone A have been closed apart from seven (7) access checkpoints. A circular A-road route has been constructed to divert traffic around Zone A as well as a replacement rail line to reconnect the pre-existing Haistings line to Lohndon; the spa railway was dismantled up to Westerbridge. The entrance to both sites is guarded against unauthorized entry by the site entrance checkpoint. Railway access on the Haistings line into Zone A has been maintained for Foundation use only as it is guarded by checkpoints North and South B with fail-safe switching mechanisms diverting to the bypass rail route when not in use.

Personnel must not remain within Zone A for any longer than necessary due to passive effects caused by contamination of SCP-XXXX-1.

AREA-A is to be considered as a Class-IV non-Euclidian zone and personnel who enter Area-A between the hours of 02:00 and 03:57 AM are to be considered lost with no rescue attempts carried out.

The above ground buildings are to be considered as individual Class-III non-Euclidian zones and Class-B para-thauthological capable.

Civilians found within Zone A are to be warned about the “severe chemical dangers” cover-story and evacuated immediately to the closest checkpoint for debriefing, “decontamination” and 24 hour observation. Should no anomalous activity manifest, suspects are handed over to local authority to be returned to their point of residence and given extreme caution about the “severe chemical dangers”. Class-C amnestic may only be used if detainees reject the cover story or become violent.

Due to the events experienced during Exploration II, any personnel who encounter ‘civilians’ in AREA-A or AREA-B must signal “Civilian Beta” over radio-communication to alert other personnel of this specific incident. Upon hearing the signal “Civilian Beta”, all personnel present within Zone A, AREA-A or AREA-B must vacate immediately to Zone S and wait 24 hours until reinstating the relevant operation.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to three anomalous phenomena found within the area of Royal Taunbridge Wells; SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B.

+ SCP-XXXX-1

SCP-XXXX-1 is an unknown stable metallic mineral. The chemical properties of SCP-XXXX-1 have been compared with sodium with a melting point of 367 K and similar ductility but it possesses a density of 22.57 g/cm3 and mostly inert. SCP-XXXX-1 has the appearance of being shiny, metallic and almost completely black. Despite having metal-like properties, SCP-XXXX-1 has superconductor-like properties with its apparent critical temperature being 313.15 K (40 °C).

Early records recovered from archives of SoI 11A3F (“The Mines”) indicate that SCP-XXXX-1 was thought to be graphite and was subsequently extracted en mass to the pencil manufacturing industry. However, it was around this time that the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX-1 were first recorded. On the 7th of August 1915, two fully loaded Gondolas instantaneously disappeared from a storage train yard upon the addition of 2.5 kg of SCP-XXXX-1 in front of 14 workers. The Foundation became aware of the incident through internal agents and did a small scale investigation but found no other anomalous activity. Class A amnestics were distributed to the workers who witnessed the incident. A topologist researcher, Jack Sleeve who was working on the case, noted inconsistencies in the industrial yard and “possible anomalous attributes” but no further evidence warranted another investigation.

It has been speculated that SCP-2951 may contain SCP-XXXX-1 or similar materials due to similarities in anomalous properties however this cannot be confirmed.

A significant property of SCP-XXXX-1 is Hume level manipulation. As a result SCP-XXXX-1 changes reality topologically around it. Effects of this include changes in dimensional scale, topology and changes in position of objects. SCP-XXXX-1 also appears to be self-interfering with the position of each sample effecting the other, often resulting in sudden extreme decrease and increase in Hume levels.

In addition, testing has determined that SCP-XXXX-1 possesses a temporal interference field which can result in temporal dilation in the area affected. The size of this field increases at a decreasing rate with the amount of SCP-XXXX-1 present. The strength of this temporal field also appears to obey the inverse square law in intensity compared with distance. These two properties make accurate and consistent chemical analysis of SCP-XXXX-1 practically impossible.

The last known effect of SCP-XXXX-1 is the manifestation of various anomalous phenomena; the intensity of which increases with time until the saturation point is reached. This is proportional with the amount of SCP-XXXX-1 present. The affects of the anomalous phenomena range from unnoticeable to explicitly harmful; often resulting in Class Draugur (IX – XIII) para-thauthological manifestations.

An observation of a sample of SCP-XXXX-1 was carried out by Researcher Rachel Down in temporary test chamber C outside Site-377 and its results were recorded in Addendum XXXX-1: Research Log 1. The test chamber was fitted with an EMF measurement device, a thermal camera and a standard security issued visual-night-vision camera. This test was to observe the para-thauthological and environmental effects of SCP-XXXX-1 upon entering a new enclosed environment.

Biological analysis of subjects contaminated by SCP-XXXX-1 have shown that natural mechanisms do exist to excrete SCP-XXXX-1 from the human body, indicating that SCP-XXXX-1 may be entirely natural or has been present on Earth for longer than previously known. SCP-XXXX-1 has no known effects on the human body apart from para-thauthological manifestations in the immediate vicinity of the contaminated subject.
