Item #: SCP-???? ‘The Soldier’

Object Class: Uncontained

Description: SCP-???? Is an athletic, 6ft 1 European male featuring shaved dark hair and blue eyes, SCP- physically appears to be in its mid 30’s though claims to be much older. SCP- is known to speak Russian, and accented English. SCP can be identified by the mix of Soviet and Russian military clothing and equipment it is seen to wear and utilise. SCP- is known to appear in numerous conflict throughout the world, SCP- will integrate into an infantry unit at no role higher in rank than Sergeant, In every interview with servicemen in the same unit, SCP is mentioned to be a highly effective and well regarded, if somewhat somber member of the unit [see addendum B for full interviews] and will serve with the unit until the conflict has ended or the formation is destroyed. While primarily involved in conflicts fought by the many iterations of the Russian state SCP- is reported to have been involved in other conflicts. SCP- agreed to an interview with foundation personnel after it was tracked down to Palmyra following the Syrian Governments recapturing of the site. The Interview has proved invaluable in learning more about SCP- and can be found in Addendum B part 2

Containment: Uncontained
Containment efforts are underway, however due to the chaotic nature of war zones, the seeming non existence or highly elusive nature of SCP- outside of combat environments, combined with the relatively low threat presented by SCP-, SCP- is not as high a priority as other uncontained anomalous objects. SCP has evaded foundation personnel on numerous occasions, and appears to be somewhat aware of the foundations existance.

[Interview] [A]
[Date: November 7th, 1986]
[Location: Outpost near Kabul, Afghanistan]
[Subject: Senior Sergeant Nikolai Isakov, interviewed by foundation agents disguised as a KGB operative sent to record unit morale and obtain statements from personnel, relevant section included below]
Agent: “I am glad you have such a positive view of the war situation, now I would like to ask you some questions about the men under your command”
Isakov: ”Of course Major”
Agent: How would you describe unit morale
Isakov: I would say it is quite high, of course the men miss their homes and families but they are all in high spirits and ready to fight
Agent: “what can you tell me about the one with the one with abnormal equipment”
Isakov: “Ah Yuri, he is an odd one, quite reserved, a bit more comfortable around explosives than anyone should be, but extremely effective, almost seems to see things a moment before they happen, well liked by them men, despite his less than cheerful attitude, sociable enough fit in well and always has extra ammo or a spare cleaning brush. Despite his preferences for old equipment, he is an invaluable member of the platoon.

[Interview]
[Date: March 30th 2016]
[Location: Palmyra, Syria]
[Subject: SCP-]
[Interviewer: Agent- IC of foundation recovery team-]
Agent: “Thank you for agreeing to this interview”
SCP: “No problem”
Agent: “State your name”
SCP: “Yuri Markov”
Agent: “where were you born”
SCP: “Sevastopol”
Agent: "When"
SCP: "I can't quite remember, but I believe it was around 1880"
Agent: "You are claiming to be 140 years old?"
SCP: "There about"
Agent: "Can you tell me anything about your family"
SCP: "I can't… I think.. We were poor, I had a younger Sister?
[SCP is observed to be visibly upset upon hearing this question and its subsequent lack of knowledge to answer]
Agent: "What can you tell me about your enlistment with the armed forces"
SCP: "I signed on with the Black Sea Fleet on January 3rd, 1897, as a Naval Infantryman, my first battle was the invasion of Manchuria during the Boxer Rebellion"
Agent: "Why can you remember these details so precisely but hardly remember anything about your own family?
SCP: "I don't know"
Agent: "You obviously know that you have anomalous properties, can you give me any indication of when these began to manifest?"
SCP: "It was at the Masurian Lakes, in 1915, we marched for days, the Germans were on a ridge-line, we charged them, and died in droves. The company priest was with us, chanting prayers to kindle faith in our hearts, it worked, I thought I was Gods wrath incarnate until I found myself staring down a German machine gun, it fired, I fell"
Agent: "You were severely wounded in this attack?"
SCP: "Well, yes, but no. I woke at night and I knew I must have been shot but I could not find where so I crawled away and was found by a couple of soldiers who were heading back to our lines, in the daylight I could see the holes and bloodstains on my tunic"
[At this point SCP gestures a line from its upper abdomen to its right hand lung]
SCP: "I decided I had just been extremely lucky, I knew something was wrong but there was a war to fight"
Agent: "Have you experienced any other situations where you believe you should died?
SCP: Of course, during the Civil War a Cossack stuck me in the neck with his dagger, this one here [SCP-XXXX shows the Agent a large Cossack dagger], I was in the Maxim Gorky Fortress II when it fell, I was hit with a flamethrower in the Sewers under Stalingrad and was strung up by partisans in the Baltics in 1948"
Agent: "When you woke after being stabbed, where was the knife?"
SCP: "It was lying on the ground next to me"
Agent: "It was not in your neck?"
SCP: "No, but it was still covered in my blood"
Agent: "What do you do when not involved in a conflict?"
SCP: "I… I… I'm sorry I don't remember
Agent: "Do not remember or do not wish to tell me?"
SCP: "Do not remember"
Agent: "Okay, can you give me a list of all conflicts you can recall being a part of?"
SCP: "Yes, Boxer Rebellion, Russo-Japanese War, WW1, Russian Civil War, Ukrainian War, Baltic Conflicts, Polish War, Caucasian Wars, Winter War, Second Polish War, Great Patriotic War, Baltic counter insurgency, Hungarian Rebellion, Vietnam, Czechoslovakia, Afganistan, Abkhazia, Chechnya, Georgia, and now Syria." [SCP- lets out a long sigh and slumps down in his chair]
Agent: "How do feel about your situation?"
SCP: "Would you enjoy it agent, your 'life' being nothing but traveling from one battle to another, not even able to remember your own family? No I do not like my situation but it is my lot in life and I will do everything in my power to serve to the best of my ability; с нами бог; Agent
[At this point SCP stands up and walks out of the tent, Agents attempt to pursue but fail to find any trace of SCP]
