Item #: SCP-5749
Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5749 is to be completely fenced off with a layer 2 layers of reinforced electrical fencing expanding 9.8km each side going around SCP-5749. The electric fencing is required to be 0.80km away from all of the main entrances to SCP-5749 and must reach a height of 3.35m to decrease the chances of trespassers infiltrating or entities escaping SCP-5749. All roads leading into the site are blocked off and redirected around the site. Although SCP-5749 is safe to enter, it is important for only authorized personnel to enter for testing purposes only. The site is to be under constant watch by no less than 2 4 guards per entrance. All non-test related entries of SCP-5749 are restricted. Any trespassers that reach the inside of SCP-5749 are to be detained immediately once exiting the site, any other entities attempting to leave are to be terminated on site by any available guards. Only members with a level 3 4 clearance or higher may enter SCP-5749 for test related purposes ONLY. 1 or more researchers must enter for expeditions of SCP-5749. D class personnel are to be sent in for the expeditions of SCP-5749

Description: SCP-5749 is an old abandoned city located in the Krasnoyarsk province. SCP-5749 was built in [REDACTED] but the person responsible for the construction plans of SCP-5749 is still unknown to the Foundation. Roads entering SCP-5749 Normally provide large signs that read "Welcome to Pyelknom" but no population number is found on any of the signs encountered. The buildings inside SCP-5749 were noted to have a variety of different vines and other vegetation going through windows, walls, and doors. Certain buildings were found to have been missing large chunks of wall or ceilings as if the laws of gravity don't affect the structures, but tampering with these broken structures can result in collapse. Most roads inside SCP-5749 appear to have multiple large cracks and potholes.

Tests of SCP-5749 have proved that certain buildings and areas seem to be covered by an ill-lit red and light-toned green material that looks of a moss and rust combination. When tested, it appeared to be radioactive and cannot be touched by human skin. More tests of this material have lead scientists to believe it came from an unknown anomaly, the material has been noted to have microscopic parasites on the surface of this material which lead to it being tagged SCP-5749-1. If this substance is touched with bare skin it will cause bodily harm to the person coming in contact with the material. The causes of contact can result in a change of skin color, human skin will begin to turn a fluorescent red color and may begin to form pockets of blood that become very irritating and are very sensitive to any touch. Popping these pockets can cause an increase in an instant infection of the wound. Infections of the wounds can lead to death 1 hour from exposure. Preventing the pockets of blood from bursting is near to impossible due to the high level of sensitivity, and at the moment there have been no recorded survivors of these infections. These infections cannot be passed from human to human as stated by Head Researcher Dr. K████████. Researchers, test subjects or any other person who was to spend at most 10 hours in SCP-5749 will begin to hallucinate and become mentally ill running in all different directions as if looking for something they have no knowledge about or sometimes staying in one location in the fetal position, more information of this effect is explained in Incident Report SCP-5749-A. Although as of now researchers yet to have found any forms of life living inside SCP-5749, other than the parasites, and have classified it as Safe.

During recent tests, A researcher has gathered information on creatures inhabiting SCP-5749 and has been reclassified as Euclid. Instances of SCP-5749-2 have been found wandering the inner areas of SCP-5749. Due to these encounters, test subjects have been sent in to gather more information about the entities living within. Test Subject ██████ ████ reported on his encounters with SCP-5749-2. The test subject's notes state that SCP-5749-2 instances are disfigured humanoid entities that are 1.8m tall and weighing approximately 91.3kg. These entities attack with any metal or wooden objects found nearby but also attack using their bare hands. These entities attack human trespassers to protect their homes (SCP-5749). It has been seen time and time again that they will not attack if not approached or bothered in any way. When provoked they can quickly sprint towards the trespassers. These creatures have been described as having scars revealing blood and puss and multiple layers of scar tissue hanging off their bodies, some instances missing eyes or others having disfigured faces and bodies. SCP-5749-2 instances emit a foul aroma of death and decay and speak in an odd unintelligible language that is unknown to the Foundation but can also speak English as noted in Incident Report SCP-5749-C. From a far distance, SCP-5749-2 instances are seen roaming the streets in SCP-5749. Test subjects have also noted encountering these creatures gathering in one area or another and seem to perform types of rituals at random times of the day. Instances of SCP-5749-2 have been seen eating off of live birds and the vegetation found in and around SCP-5749. Instances of SCP-5749-2 have been noted to be weakened by electrocution causing the entity to go unconscious but is not strong enough to kill the entity. During the night these creatures have been found either guarding the streets or resting in abandoned buildings or houses. If a human being was to be touched by SCP-5749-2 the victim will begin to develop symptoms of fever and fatigue and their skin will begin to peel and bleed, the victim will then begin to slowly evolve into an instance of SCP-5749-2 within 5 hours from exposure. Clearance level access to SCP-5749 has been upgraded from level 3 to level 4 or higher due to an incident that occurred on ██/██/20██ during an ordinary night watch. Another incident report was filed on ██/██/20██, Incident Report SCP-5749-C

Note: This was the last recorded expedition that Dr. K████████ allowed professional researchers to go into SCP-5749, from here on out D class personnel were sent in for short expeditions and were all given 2 hours to bring back more information about the newfound instances of SCP-5749-2.

Note: After it requested for Dr. P███████ to become an instance of SCP-5749-2 it attempted to get up and sprint towards the glass between them, guards then immediately entered and safely escorted the entity to its containment chamber. Although it was unsuccessful in its attempt to break the bulletproof glass it was able to crack it severely
