Special Containment Procedures: SCP-8118 is currently contained in a 5x5x5-meter containment chamber with Level-3 security. All contact with SCP-8118 requires detailed explanation and Level-4 authorization. All instances of SCP-8118 are to be terminated immediately. Under no circumstance are any Foundation personnel - including Level-4 and above personnel - to handle SCP-8118 in an uncontrolled environment. SCP-8118 is not to be taken from its containment chamber under any circumstance other than controlled relocation (in such circumstances, SCP-8118 is to be transported in a Foundation drone).
Description: SCP-8118 is a small knife with a blade measuring 4.5 inches. The handle of SCP-8118 appears to be the hoof of a deer (Cervidae) crudely attached to the blade through unknown means. SCP-8118 is believed to be 50 years old - despite the handle showing no signs of decomposition. The blade of SCP-8118 appears to be blemished with a mixture of dry human blood and rust. The composition of SCP-8118's blade is indeterminate. All current Foundation attempts at neutralization have failed - likely due to the anomalous composition of SCP-8118. The fur of the handle has not shown to be vulnerable to extreme heat or bacterial exposure. While the object is not yet known to be completely indestructible, all attempts at destruction are now to be denied due to its currently efficient containment procedures. It is not yet known is SCP-8118 is a reality anchor. SCP-8118 does not anchor its local reality, but has proven to be resistant to reality-altering attempts (See Addendum-8118-X)
SCP-8118 is capable of cutting through any substance with relative ease. This includes:
- Steel
- Tungsten
- Stone
- Flesh (See Addendum-8118-X)
- SCP-682 (See Addendum-8118-X)
- SCP-148
- Mild reality anchors
Because of this, it is believed that SCP-8118 was created through anomalous means by an unknown, anomalous entity. Further research is a mild priority.
SCP-8118 is classified as a dangerous cognitohazardous object. Whenever a sentient subject approaches SCP-8118, they will feel a subtle - but gradually increasing - urge to pick up the object. This effect is not unavoidable, and - with knowledge of SCP-8118's properties - can be disregarded for a short period. However, if an affected subject holds SCP-8118 by the hilt, in 100% of tested cases, they will refuse to remove SCP-8118 from their possession and will resort to violence in order to keep it.
The moment a subject holds SCP-8118, they are then classified as an instance of SCP-8118-1. SCP-8118-1 instances will - after a period of up to 30-minutes with SCP-8118 in their possession - will develop a hatred for all forms of life and, eventually, a need to destroy it. This effect will not cease until the SCP-8118-1 instance is terminated (sleeping is considered a temporary solution, but the effects will remain). Removal of SCP-8118 is extremely difficult but is believed to be an immediate solution to its effects. It is unknown if the SCP-8118-1 instance will still attempt to recover SCP-8118 if it is removed.

Personnel D-67992 and D-77789 are sent into SCP-8118's containment chamber with supervision. D-77789 is instructed to approach SCP-8118 while D-67992 is instructed to stay in place.

Half a minute pass. D-67992 has begun staring at SCP-8118.
D-77789: I'm gonna touch it.

D-67992 sprints toward SCP-8118 and pushes D-77789 past. He picks up SCP-8118 and looks at is in his hand, in awe. Doctor-█████ does not call for termination.
D-77789: The fuck?! Why can he touch it but not me?
Doctor-█████: Continue to comply, D-77789, or you will be terminated.
D-77789: Oh this is fucking unfair. Give it.
D-77789 pushes D-67992 aggressively and attempts to take the knife. D-67992 immediately yells and stabs D-77789 in the arm, removing the blade and stabbing him again in the chest. D-77789 screams in pain before falling. D-67992 falls with him, remaining on him as he stabs D-77789 repeatedly. He begins to laugh. Addendum-8118-B:
SCP-8118 is secured inside a Foundation drone composed of 15% SCP-148 and transported to SCP-682's containment chamber. It is brought inside SCP-682's containment chamber and dropped near SCP-682.
SCP-682 grumbles and immediately devours SCP-8118. No immediate effects are shown. After 2 minutes of observation and presumed termination of SCP-8118, SCP-682 begins to shriek - harming multiple nearby Foundation employees. Its hide begins to erupt in multiple spots as its feet separate and reveal lubricated webs. It crawls up its containment chamber's walls and destroys the observation glass at the top corner of the chamber. SCP-682 breaches containment while SCP-8118 remains inside it. This breach lasts 5 hours, results in 280 Foundation casualties and SCP-682 with SCP-8118 nearly escape the Site, before being stopped by MTF-██████ ██████████. SCP-8118 was recovered unharmed while SCP-682's containment chamber was being fixed. Samples of SCP-682 were found on the blade of SCP-682.
