As of 6/1/2019 the Foundation came across some sort of artifact, an item from at least the Sumerians.
It has been inactive for thousands of years. Initial research points to a sort of weapon, memetic in nature. Subject reacts similar to nuclear radiation, minus the direct effects of radiation poisoning. Damage appears purely psychological in nature. Those exposed go through a sort of mind rot.
