Order-XXXX-1: WARNING: Inquiry into SCP-XXXX by unauthorized personnel is grounds for immediate termination. A list of authorized personnel is distributed on a need to know basis; personnel will know without a doubt whether or not they are authorized. No personnel outside of the O5 Council are exempted from this order. Personnel should be aware that unauthorized inquiry will also result in the automatic opening of an investigation into their immediate family, who are also subjected to this order.
Containment Protocol
SCP-XXXX-A through SCP-XXXX-F are to be entombed separately within a 1 meter cube of insulating foam, which is sealed within a lead cube with walls 5cm thick. The cube is ground to a smooth surface and painted black. A 10cm square 2D barcode is painted on the outside of each container to identify the contents. When scanned, the barcode reveals a [REDACTED] digit number.
Complimenting the six live containers for SCP-XXXX are several hundred decoy containers. The number of decoy containers in circulation is to be changed at random intervals; the current number as of this writing is [REDACTED]. The locations of these containers is to be changed at random intervals, with transit to be accomplished by armed convoy. No single Foundation site may have more than [REDACTED] containers at any time.
The schedule for deploying decoy SCP-XXXX containers, exchanging container locations, and assigning their destinations is made automatically via an encrypted planning algorithm. Access to this algorithm, as well as the database for interpreting the containers' barcodes, requires a decryption key secured by the O5 Council.
SCP-XXXX containers may be stored in the same room, as there is no risk of passive interaction between SCP-XXXX's subclasses. They are to be placed atop clear plastic shelving such that all sides of each cube are clearly visible. Access to the storage rooms must be restricted 24/7 by no fewer than three armed guards. Closed circuit surveillance tapes of the guard posts, exteriors of the storage buildings, and interiors of the storage rooms must be reviewed by an authorized Level 3 senior containment specialist once per day. Visual inspection of each container is to be done during shift changes and at every stop during transit.
Once every [REDACTED] months, the contents of each live SCP-XXXX container will be verified at a mobile site by an authorized Level 4 researcher, referred to from here on as the channeler. Before inspection, the channeler is given a full body MRI to search for foreign objects. For the duration of the test, they are only permitted to wear a skin-tight standard issue jumpsuit, and they are fitted with an explosive collar.
The channeler is overseen by a tactical team of no fewer than six members. The tactical team is briefed on the precise routine the channeler will perform as part of their inspection of the SCP-XXXX containers. Any deviation from this routine is grounds for immediate termination.
Description - [Data expunged]
Addendum-XXXX-1. Protocol for verifying the contents of live SCP-XXXX containers. Restricted to authorized Level 4 researcher, Dr. [REDACTED], referred to from here on as the channeler, as well as all relevant tactical members involved with testing.
SCP-XXXX-A. The stone is removed from the breached container via insulated forceps. The channeler places the stone in their hand and visually inspects it. They then hold it over their head. Using the stone, the channeler produces the following effects, aimed upwards when appropriate.
- Three conical flashes of white light, followed by one flash each of red, green, and blue light
- A cone of shadow, extending no more than 3 feet, lasting no longer than 3 seconds
- 8 ascending tones, approximating C major
- A supplied container holding 25ml of HPLC-grade water is emptied into the air above the channeler's hand. The water is formed into the shape of a globe, levitating 6 inches above their hand
- The globe of water is frozen, which should take approximately 3 seconds
- The globe of ice is sliced into 8 pieces, and then immediately reformed into a single unit
- The globe of ice is melted and then boiled. It should take 65 seconds before the water is fully vaporized
Once all of the above effects have been demonstrated, the stone is returned to the container. The container is repaired to remove visual evidence of tampering and returned to circulation. The channeler's explosive collar is inspected to ensure it has not been compromised.
SCP-XXXX-B. The stone is removed from the breached container via insulated forceps. The channeler places the stone in their hand and visually inspects it. Once the all-clear is given, a Class D is instructed to approach the channeler. They are then briefed on the nature of the experiment. From here on, the Class D is referred to as the subject.
The channeler is to perform the following actions. The subject is to report their experiences in real time.
- The channeler projects the image of a red apple into the subject's mind
- The channeler projects the image of a knife approaching the red apple
- The channeler invokes a fear response in the subject, causing them to be afraid of the knife cutting the apple
- The channeler projects an image of the subject as a child, being handed a slice of apple by a close female family member. The subject identifies the family member
- The channeler invokes a feeling of comfort in the subject at this experience
- The channeler attempts to inform the subject that they have successfully completed the experiment and can leave. This is accomplished nonverbally by rapidly invoking a series of sensations, emotions, and memories in the subject's mind. Successful interpretation of the message is not required by the subject, but they should attempt to describe what they are feeling
Once all of the above effects have been demonstrated, the stone is returned to the container. The container is repaired to remove visual evidence of tampering and returned to circulation. Subject is administered amnesiacs and is to be monitored for 3 months for psychiatric abnormalities. Persistent memory of the experiment will result in termination.
SCP-XXXX-C. The stone is removed from the breached container via insulated forceps. The channeler places the stone in their hand and visually inspects it. They then retrieve the supplied scalpel from its holster. The channeler makes a 10cm long incision along the exterior of their forearm. The incision is then healed, which should take no more than 30 seconds.
The channeler must immediately return the stone to its container. The container is repaired to remove visual evidence of tampering and returned to circulation. The channeler is then administered another full body MRI. All abnormalities noted in the previous scan, such as tumors or aneurisms, are to be carefully evaluated to ensure they have not shrunk or disappeared.
SCP-XXXX-D. The stone is removed from the breached container via insulated forceps. The channeler places the stone in their hand and visually inspects it. The channeler will then begin levitating, no more than 6 inches off the ground. After performing an airborne somersault, they will land and return the stone to its container. The container is repaired to remove visual evidence of tampering and returned to circulation.
SCP-XXXX-E and SCP-XXXX-F must be tested in tandem, due to the nature of their properties.
Testing begins with SCP-XXXX-E. The stone is removed from the breached container via insulated forceps. The channeler places the stone in their hand and visually inspects it. They then retrieve the supplied 15cc cube of limestone from its holster. Holding SCP-XXXX-E in one hand and the limestone cube in the other, the channeler activates SCP-XXXX-E. After 45 seconds, the appearance of the limestone cube should change to match that of SCP-XXXX-E. From here on, the original is referred to as SCP-XXXX-E-Prime, and the copy is referred to as SCP-XXXX-E-Beta.
The channeler then places SCP-XXXX-E-Prime on the supplied work table and is escorted 30 meters away, holding SCP-XXXX-E-Beta in plain view of tactical. At this time, SCP-XXXX-F's container is breached, and SCP-XXXX-E-Beta is placed on the work table. The stone is removed from the breached container via insulated forceps. The channeler places the stone in their hand and visually inspects it. Once the all-clear is given, the Class D supplied from the volunteer hospice program is instructed to approach the channeler's work station. From here on, the Class D is referred to as the subject.
The subject hands the channeler the supplied blade. The channeler inspects the blade to confirm the presence of the 15cc cube of limestone in the upper socket of the hilt. They then place SCP-XXXX-F in the lower socket. At this time, the channeler is authorized to administer last rites or an equivalent statement consistent with the subject's beliefs. The subject lies prone on the supplied medical table, and the channeler straps the subject's head to the table.
When ready, the channeler positions the blade over the base of the subject's skull. As they insert the blade, the channeler activates SCP-XXXX-F. Once fully inserted into the subject's skull, the channeler twists the blade before removing it. After confirming the procedure's success, they then remove both SCP-XXXX-F-Prime and SCP-XXXX-F-Beta from the sockets of the hilt. Tactical then removes the remains of the subject from the work area and retrieves the blade from the channeler.
The channeler places SCP-XXXX-F-Prime on the work table beside places SCP-XXXX-E-Beta so that they are touching. They then activate both SCP-XXXX-E-Beta and SCP-XXXX-F-Prime in tandem; the pair will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-α. There should be no obvious effect. The channeler is then escorted back to the SCP-XXXX-E work station and repeats the process with SCP-XXXX-E-Prime and SCP-XXXX-F-Beta; this pair will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-Ω.
At this time, a 50cm diameter projection sphere should appear around both SCP-XXXX-α and SCP-XXXX-Ω. Visual inspection of the projection spheres should reveal that SCP-XXXX-α's immediate surroundings are projected into SCP-XXXX-Ω's sphere, and vice versa. This confirms the function of SCP-XXXX-E. The channeler is then escorted away from the work station. Projection should continue indefinitely, confirming the function of SCP-XXXX-F.
Once the experiment is complete, both SCP-XXXX-E-Beta and SCP-XXXX-F-Beta are to be destroyed by the channeler, using the supplied lead mallet. SCP-XXXX-E and SCP-XXXX-F are then to be returned to their respective containers. The containers are repaired to remove visual evidence of tampering and returned to circulation.
