Interview Log XXXX-1-A, ██-██-195█
Interviewee: OSS Agent ███████ ██████
Interviewer: Dr. Magenta Almeida
Foreword: OSS Agent ███████ ██████ is a 29 year old Caucasian male of American nationality formerly worked as an OSS counterintelligence agent placed in the city of Yogyakarta. Agent ██████ is one of few surviving OSS agent involved with the recovery of SCP-XXXX.
<Begin Log, 01:24 P.M.>
Dr. Almeida: You are OSS Agent ███████ █████ ██████, born on May ██th 19██, tasked to gather intelligence in the city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Is that correct?
Agent ██████: Yes.
Dr. Almeida: Why are you involved in the recovery of RPC-XXXX?
Agent ██████: I was involved because I have a profound knowledge of the city and that they needed more manpower.
Dr. Almeida: How did you discover the existence of RPC-XXXX prior to the recovery?
Agent ██████: I came across the local folklore and I also came across a few reports of missing male fishermen along the ████████████ beach.
Dr. Almeida: Can you elaborate on the folklore? Just for the record.
Agent ██████: There are many forms folklore from different regions. Which one would you like to know?
Dr. Almeida: The one you know best, please.
Agent ██████: Okay. The Sundanese folklore told that the entity is a princess of the Pajajaran kingdom named ████ ██████. She suffered a disgusting skin disease to which then she was banned from the palace. She then jumped to the Indian Ocean and the waters cured her disease. Then… Well, you know the rest.
Dr. Almeida: Thank you. Please describe your experience on the recovery of RPC-XXXX.
Agent ██████: Very well. So there were me, Agent ████, and three other agents in the city (Yogyakarta). In April ██th, 195█, we were tasked to recover this thing. The order came straight from the top, so I knew it was important, but the order itself is… Unusual. I mean, I'm trained to gather intelligence, not go on a manhunt, for God's sake!
[Agent ██████ paused]
Dr. Almeida: Agent ██████? Please continue.
Agent ██████: Sorry. We were told to gather at the ████████████ beach at oh-three-hundred hours and by the time we got there, at least ██ men were already waiting there armed to the teeth. One of your agents brought out a local fisherman; blindfolded, gagged and handcuffed. He… Proceeds to break one of his arms and told us that we were using him as bait. Then, we tied him to a coconut tree and we were hiding behind a fishing boat.
Dr. Almeida: And you had no means of illumination at the time?
Agent ██████: There was only moonlight and lanterns from nearby houses, but it's bright enough to see. Anyway, thirty minutes in, and a woman in a green, royal dress just appeared in front of the man, it seemed like she's… Comforting him. The senior agent at the time haven't given us order to move in, he told us to wait. When the woman and the man stood up and started to walk into the sea, Agent ██████ ran out and cast a fish net on both of them.
Dr. Almeida: Hold on for a moment. [Rustling of papers] Here in your report, you stated that you felt a sensation of unease while recovering RPC-XXXX, is that correct?
Agent ██████: It feels like goosebumps, but it's much more… Intense and I felt it all over my body. It's a similar feeling when you're walking on the ████████████ beach before we took the thing, only it's a hundred times worse.
Dr. Almeida: Thank you. Please continue.
Agent ██████: The… Thing transformed into a sea serpent while letting out a God-awful howl. Everyone, including me just froze there. The sea 'awakes' and the next thing you know, ██ of the agents just ran away.
Dr. Almeida: And why would they do that?
Agent ██████: Because a [EXPLETIVE] sixty foot (20 meters) wave was coming for us. Both the thing and the fisherman are still struggling in the net.
Dr. Almeida: How did you survive the wave?
Agent ██████: The land twenty feet (6 meters) away from the thing was unaffected by the wave, that's how Agent ████, ██████, and I survived. After Agent ██████ knocked out the thing with his rifle stock, the wave just subsides.
Dr. Almeida: How did you managed to transport RPC-XXXX?
Agent ██████: After the thing transformed back to a woman, we handcuffed it and made sure to knock it out every time it awakes. Agent ████ had a personal supply of op- I mean, sedatives to spare, so of course we used it on the thing. A CIA cargo plane was sent to retrieve us in the morning along with the thing and they told us that our work in Indonesia is over.
Dr. Almeida: How would you describe RPC-XXXX in its human form?
Agent ██████: It's young. Too young to be something this ancient. And seeing how it comforts the fisherman, the thing is very much human. But don't let that deceive you, it'd kill you anytime it had the chance.
Dr. Almeida: Thank you. [Dr. Almeida stands up] That would be all, Agent ██████.
Agent ██████: Please, Doctor, kill it. You don't have a reason to keep it alive.
Dr. Almeida: I'm sorry, we can't do that.
Agent ██████: [Agent ██████ stands up and slams the table] That thing has killed hundreds of people, including my friends! Are you waiting for another disaster to happen?! That thing has no reason to live!
Dr. Almeida: I'm sorry, Agent ██████, but The Foundation's purpose is to contain, not kill.
Agent ██████: [Agent ██████ sits back down and starts to sob] I should've killed it when I had the chance.
<End Log, 01:37 P.M.>
Closing Statement: The events happened on ██-██-195█ was a calamity. Deceased recovery team is classified as KIA and their families has been informed of their deaths. I need Class-C amnestics to be administered to the surviving recovery team and to every resident of Yogyakarta.
Notes from Dr. ███████: Class-C Amnestics has been administered to the surviving recovery agents. However, the events that lead up from the 16th century and the amount of folklore surrounding RPC-XXXX requires a countrywide amnestic administration. Approval is pending.
Notes from O5-██: Request for countrywide amnestic administration denied. We already have SCP-XXXX in containment, let the people of Indonesia live with the folklore. At least the residents of Yogyakarta can now sleep peacefully at night without interference from RPC-XXXX.
