Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is currently disguised as a governmental facility, with 2-5 armed guards patrolling the perimeter at all times. During an α-event, all security tapes and video recordings taken within a 25km radius of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be monitored for footage of SCP-XXXX, and anyone suspected to have seen the footage is to be administered Class-B Amnestics.

During a β-event, the entrance to SCP-XXXX-1 is to be heavily monitored and guarded until the victims of the β-event are safely outside of SCP-XXXX-1. The nature and length of β-events is highly variable, requiring the observation of increased security measures for on-site personnel for the full duration.

Once any or all victims exit from SCP-XXXX-1, ending the β-event, they are to be interviewed before being supplied Class-G Amnestics and returned to their respective residences.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a tall, black figure of unknown species or origin. SCP-XXXX is impossible to locate outside of α-events, which have been observed to occur every 5-7 months and last several weeks.

When SCP-XXXX is active, it will manifest in any dark, shadowy area within 25km of SCP-XXXX-1, and attempt to abduct any human that comes in close proximity of it. Following this event, the person in question will be transported to SCP-XXXX-1, and remain docile until the β-event occurs. SCP-XXXX has shown to select victims based on a number of criteria:

  • The area is outdoors, or open to the sky
  • The area does not contain more than 10 humans nearby
  • The victim is between the ages of 21 and 481
  • There are no humans watching the abduction occur.2

Upon SCP-XXXX's successful abduction of 3 humans, the α-event will end and, after an intermittent period of two months, a β-event will occur. The β-event is marked by the 3 victims, previously dormant inside of SCP-XXXX-1, regaining consciousness.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a spacial anomaly located inside of an abandoned hospital in ███████, Florida. Entering the hospital by any means other than the main entrance has led to a non-anomalous interior, disconnected from SCP-XXXX-1. The only physical connection SCP-XXXX-1 has to the hospital is the entrance, which is attached to a set of double doors outside the facility. However, passage into SCP-XXXX-1 via these doors has proven impossible.

When the β-event begins, all three victims will wake up at the same time, each in one of three beds in the initial room, and all with total Retrograde Amnesia. The victims waking up marks the beginning of Iteration-1 of the β-event. In every β-event, iterations last three hours, at which point SCP-XXXX-1 will go black, and when power comes back on, the 3 humans will be back in the initial room, in their beds. However, the victims retain memories through iterations, meaning that if they discover something of importance, they can use that information to aid them in escaping SCP-XXXX-1. If any of the victims dies, they will remain dead until the next iteration, at which point they will be unharmed in their starting bed, but with no memory of previous iterations.

Every β-event is different, with each combination of people having to complete different challenges. Aside from the initial room, no aspect of SCP-XXXX-1 has been the same in any two β-events. Challenges always seem to be oriented towards specific skill sets that each victim has, such as a bomb defusal challenge for a pyrotechnic engineer, or a complex algorithm for a mathematician.

Exploration Log 001:
On 07-10-2018, Dr. Henry Rouslin submitted a proposal to attempt to send an agent into SCP-XXXX-1 by using them as bait. The agent would have a microchip and tracker surgically implanted into their head, allowing the Foundation to hear everything around them, as well as monitor their location. The project was approved by the site director and Agent Dmitri Wallace was chosen for his mental prowess and record time in Bairis-Bigsby escape simulations.

For months, Agent Wallace was to stand in a parking lot adjacent to SCP-XXXX-1 at night and wait for SCP-XXXX to abduct him. The experiment was proven successful when Agent Wallace did not return to base the next morning, and security footage of the lot showed him being dragged back by SCP-XXXX before disappearing into the shadows. For the next 5 weeks, Agent Wallace was unable to be located, with no audio stimuli and a blank reading on his GPS tracker. On 03-01-2019, however, his GPS reading reactivated, showing that he was, in fact, inside of SCP-XXXX-1. A connection was made to his microchip, and Agent Wallace's entire time spent inside of SCP-XXXX-1 was recorded.

For ease of study, extraneous conversations have been removed, as well as long periods of silence. The individuals in the video, aside from Agent Wallace, are Mark "Gator" Joseph, a mechanic employed by ████ auto, and Candance "Candy" Masters, a recent ███████ Medical School graduate.
