NOTICE FROM THE FOUNDATION DEPARTMENT OF MISCOMMUNICATIONS
The following file contains a virulent infohazard, and requires linguistic inoculation to safely comprehend. For security reasons, only the Overseer council and Researcher Bennet Huxley are to be given access to this file.
Please observe the following linguistic inoculation before proceeding.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX has yet to occur, but preparations have been made to deal with its effects once it does. Due to the nature of the anomaly, details of these preparations are classified to Site-96 Head Researcher, Bennet Huxley. For more information as to the details of the containment procedures, see Operation Patacache below.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an event that will occur sometime in the near future, and which will undoubtedly result in an XK-Class Scenario, bringing with it the destruction of planet earth and all life on it. The method by which this event will occur is not well understood, but based on documentation of SCP-XXXX, as detailed by SCP-XXXX-1, the planet will "become engulfed in a supernova of plasmatic radiation, and in an instant, cease to have ever existed".
SCP-XXXX-1 refers to a computer terminal located in Site-96's central research lab. As of its discovery, SCP-XXXX-1 has contained only a single text document, within which all currently understood info about SCP-XXXX resides. It is believed that SCP-XXXX-1 has a pataphysical grasp on SCP-XXXX, as editing the text of the document is theorized to fundamentally change the nature of the event. However, certain rules apply that make it difficult to alter SCP-XXXX in favor of the Foundation, and humanity as a whole. The document does not allow for the deletion of text, including that which was added post-discovery, and has been known to remove all additional phrases which contradict previously made statements.
SCP-XXXX is disguised with an antimemetic shield, albeit one that can be easily negated with the use of amnestic treatment, however, this method has not proven effective in countering its secondary memetic effect. When any individual is able to understand SCP-XXXX, either in part or as a whole, it will act as a Class-IV cognitohazard, and lead to immediate cardiac arrest, followed by death. The only known way to counteract this effect is through the use of a specialized memetic inoculatory phrase known as RLC-071.
Addendum 01: Operation Patacache
As SCP-XXXX's effects require inoculation via RLC-07 to comprehend, and doing so would cause it to become unstable for all inoculated parties, a method designed to eliminate the need for human perception would be required for proper haltering of such an anomaly.
Operation Patacache
Proposal Author: Researcher Bennet Huxley
Containment Class: Apollyon
Containment Declass: Cognitohazard
Containment Method: An AI, created for the sole purpose of interacting with and editing SCP-XXXX-1, will be given access to its contents. Its goal will be to trap the events making up SCP-XXXX within a narrativistic loop, designed and monitored by the AI. The AI, capable of writing 10,000 lines a second, will run indefinitely, adding layers of meta-commentary onto the end of SCP-XXXX-1, and hopefully causing the events described as SCP-XXXX to exist only in a narrative sense, and not occur in the real world.
