Item #: SCP-xxxx
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a rectangular steel-walled 82.5 x 82.5 x 82.5 cm structure, suspended in the air by attachments to the nose and tail of the object inside the cube. The bottom of SCP-XXXX is to never make contact with any surface while being contained. Testing of SCP-XXXX is only allowed to be conducted by class B personnel and higher.
Description: The object known as SCP-XXXX is identified as a skateboard, the board model belonging to the brand Deathwish. The deck is constructed of 7-plys of oak wood, the middle ply being made of cherry wood. The trucks are made of steel and the wheels are poly-urethane. The bearings in the wheels are unidentifiable, the lettering on the bearing protectors seems to have grinded off.
The object was obtained by field agent Alva investigating reports of a suspect travelling at high speeds alongside motor vehicles in Minneapolis, MN. Alva witnessed the suspect travelling at a speed of 80 k/h. The suspect appeared to reach this speed by grabbing onto the bumpers of nearby vehicles and letting go once desired speed was achieved.
To all outward appearances, the skateboard is normal. What the agent witnessed that day proves otherwise. The suspect never pushed to gain speed or seemed to slow down. The object maintained the same speed when going over flat ground and up inclines, the object did however increase velocity going down inclines. The skateboard was observed to maintain absolute inertia. The suspect was seen to be pushing himself away from cars to slow down, it seems the only way SCP-XXXX loses motion is to have another force act upon it.
SCP-XXXX was apprehended by Alva by driving up alongside the suspect controlling SCP-XXXX. The suspect named himself Hawk and agreed to accompany Alva to site 36. This was accomplished by Hawk holding on to Alva’s vehicle as he decellerated to a complete stop.
Once the two reached site 36, Hawk was determined non-anomalous but kept on hand as a temporary D-class to assist with testing as no one else in the facility could ride a skateboard.
Test 01
Subject: Does SCP-XXXX require constant contact with the ground?
Procedure: Newly appointed D-class personnel Hawk performed a physic-based movement to jump with the board in the air.
Results: SCP-XXXX maintained the same speed.
Analysis: Dr. Song: “Holy shit, the board stuck to his feet, did you see that??
Test 02
Subject: What if the wheels are rolling before SCP-XXXX touches the ground.
Procedure: D-class Hawk was instructed to set the wheels rotating then set SCP-XXXX on ground.
Results: SCP-XXXX took off at a speed of 60 k/h.
Analysis: Hawk was reprimanded for “just letting it rip.” Researchers will be more careful in future testing.
Test 03
Subject: Does the amount of weight affect SCP-XXXX anomalous traits?
Procedure: The skateboard was set rolling multiple times with varying amounts of weight.
Results: Researchers stopped adding weight at 114 kg, SCP-xxxx did not appear to be slowing but researchers were afraid the object would get damaged.
Analysis: D-class Hawk: “That board was ready to get focused dude”
Addendum: Further testing is being conducted to see if SCP-XXXX can be used to benefit the foundation. Dr. Mullen has theorized that [redacted] might be possible. Hawk has requested to ride SCP-XXXX in his freetime as a newly appointed D-class personnel. This request was granted with agreement that Hawk would allow site 36 Physicists to observe.
Addendum 02: Security of SCP-XXXX has been heightened. Personnel must obtain five digit code from staff possessing level 3 clearance. The cause of this is due to a security guard who just wanted to see if “he still had it.” Security guard was reprimanded and denied injury pay.
