A Schizophrenic Curse

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained in a 3 x 2.4 meter windowless padded isolation cell. One D-class personnel diagnosed with moderate to severe schizophrenia is to be contained in an identical neighboring cell. Every morning at 08:00 medical treatment is to be administered to SCP-XXXX-1 to reduce pain and physical injury. In the event that SCP-XXXX-1 expires, the isolation cell should be cleaned and a new D-class with moderate to severe schizophrenia should be placed within the cell. Two (2) armed guards should be stationed outside of the cells, rotating guards every eight (8) hours in shifts. Guards will undergo psychological evaluation every month, and rotated to another assignment if they fail evalution. Under no circumstances should any personnel with any kind of mental illness come within 250 meters of SCP-XXXX-1, and schizophrenics should remain off-site entirely.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a physical manifestation of schizophrenic hallucinations within a single individual, hereby known as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX initially manifests as increasingly intense auditory hallucinations that can often be mistaken for an increase in schizophrenic symptoms. Between 3 and 5 days of initial contraction of SCP-XXXX, hallucinations will begin to include intense tactile and visual components. At this stage individuals will begin reporting hallucinations of an entity, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 varies in appearance from subject to subject, but is usually taller than the subject, and either lacks or has severely mutilated facial features. By this stage individuals effected by SCP-XXXX will become more fearful and restless as the entity appears more frequently within their hallucinations. 7-9 days after initial contraction, SCP-XXXX-1 will sustain physical injuries directly related to their hallucinations. Although these injuries are frequently dealt by SCP-XXXX-2, any hallucination can have physical effects on the victim. Over the course of the next 6-8 weeks, hallucinations experienced will become increasingly violent, until injury becomes lethal. No subject has successfully communicated with SCP-XXXX-2 to date; whether it is sentient or sapient is currently unknown.

When SCP-XXXX-1 dies, SCP-XXXX will "jump" to the physically nearest individual effected by schizophrenia. At the instant that SCP-XXXX transfers to a new host, the new SCP-XXXX-1 will receive a dream or hallucination of SCP-XXXX-2, often accompanied by intense fear and paranoia. This is unknown if this is a normal or anomalous reaction to the entity.

Interview log to be added at a later date, I'd like to flesh out the description and containment procedures a little more. Feedback would be much appreciated.

The following is an interview conducted by Doctor [REDACTED] of D-XXXX-3. D-XXXX-3 had carried SCP-XXXX for 7 days by the time of the interview, and had begun sustaining minor injuries 5 hours prior.

A Victorian Couple

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 5x5x5 meter cell made entirely of 10 cm thick reinforced glass. The cell will have a single airlock to allow for maintenance of the cell if necessary. The cell should be inspected for cracks weekly daily and repaired if necessary. If the interior of the cell requires repair, two D-Class personnel are to enter the cell wearing Class-4 biohazard suits which have been altered to be equipped with a reinforced glass faceplate to conduct any repairs necessary. Once weekly, or if internal cell damage has been observed, D-Class personnel are to enter the containment cell and clean the cell using a low concentration solution of sodium hydroxide. All other interaction with SCP-XXXX is to be done outside of the cell via microphone and speaker systems embedded within the cell floor. Any interviewing or testing with SCP-XXXX must be approved by Dr. █████. All personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX will wear eyeglasses while interacting or supervising SCP-XXXX. If personnel are not in possession of corrective lenses, they will be assigned non-corrective glass eyewear. UPDATE: As of 07/01/2014, no personnel, including Class-D personnel, with a Psychic Resistance Score below 90 are permitted any interaction with SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX are two humanoid anomalies which are invisible to the naked eye. When viewed through any form of glass, these humanoids appear as a Victorian-era couple dressed appropriately for around the 1850s. When unable to physically come into contact with a human being, SCP-XXXX present themselves as an upper class couple of their time period, and are described as friendly and respectful. If SCP-XXXX can come into direct physical contact with a human being however, they will begin to approach the nearest human at a brisk walking pace. Any human that comes into direct physical contact with SCP-XXXX will enter immediate cardiac arrest and a large chemical burn appears where contact was made. CPR and defibrillation have little effect, due to as much as ███g of calcium fluoride appearing within the bloodstream. It was hypothesized that SCP-XXXX is covered in a layer of hydrofluoric acid, as symptoms of exposure were consistent with severe exposure to large amounts the chemical. However, upon testing, no such substance could be identified on the skin of SCP-XXXX, or any of their victims. It is currently thought that a large amount of HF is spontaneously generated in the victim's skin, however the method through which this transpires is unknown at this time.

Addendum 1

On 11/05/2011 SCP-XXXX breached containment, resulting in 1█ casualties before being recontained. According to Head Researcher Dr. █████, SCP-XXXX managed to contort their bodies and squeeze through a 5mm wide crack in their containment unit. Investigation into how the crack formed revealed that the glass of the containment chamber was damaged by minute amounts of hydrofluoric acid. Containment procedures have since been updated to include routine cleaning to remove any acid from the interior of the cell.

On 07/01/2014, SCP-XXXX attempted to breach containment. Although the attempt was unsuccessful, another anomalous property of SCP-XXXX was discovered during the attempted breach. At 15:24 local time, SCP-XXXX began vocalizing a low hum, easily detectable over the microphone embedded in their containment cell. Over the next 33 minutes, the hum gradually increased in volume and frequency. At 15:57, all activity from SCP-XXXX stopped, with the 2 entities refusing to respond to researchers attempting to communicate with them. At 16:05, both began chanting in what sounded like old English, but had no discernible meaning. This continued for the next 14 minutes, until 3 D-Class and Jr Researcher ███ suddenly began convulsing. After 23 seconds, Jr Researcher ███ and the 3 D-Class stopped convulsing and attempted to breach SCP-XXXX's containment cell. These 4 personnel proceeded to chant in a similar fashion to SCP-XXXX; despite no proper verbal communication between the 4 personnel, their attempt at breaching containment was highly coordinated; the D-Class attempted to subdue unaffected personnel whilst Jr Researcher ███ attempted to access the controls for the cell's airlock. Within 90 seconds of personnel beginning their breach attempt, security teams arrived and terminated the 3 D-Class. Junior Researcher ███ then attempted to subdue security before she was able to breach containment. Dr █████ managed to deactivate the microphone and speaker systems of the containment cell, and security successfully subdued Jr Researcher ███. When Jr Researcher ███ awoke, Dr. █████ attempted to conduct an interview. Although Jr Researcher ███ was more lucid than her earlier ramblings, she continued to speak regarding SCP-XXXX and [REDACTED] until given Class-A amnestics. The relevant transcript is provided below.

Dr █████: ███, are you back with us?

Jr Researcher ███: The messengers shall deliver, and this world will be his.

Dr █████: I'll take that as a no. Very well, I'd like to as-

Jr Researcher ███: The silicon veil will fall, and the world will bow before him.

Dr █████: What do you mean?

Jr Researcher ███: He who dwells beyond the veil will consume the rats, and the messengers will be exalted!

Dr █████: Who is He-Who-Dwells-Beyond-the-Veil?

Jr Researcher ███: [Cognitohazard Expunged]

At this point two of the security forces succumbed to the same effects that Jr Researcher ███ had. In addition, all personnel present reported intense migraines and difficulty focusing. The 2 security officers managed to inflict serious injury to 5 other security officers before being subdued by additional security. Jr Researcher ███ and the 2 security personnel were treated with Class-A amnestics and were monitored for any abnormal behavior. All personnel made a full recovery; it was quickly discovered that they and the 3 D-Class all had Psychic Resistance Scores of less than 90. Personnel with scores below 90 were reassigned, and containment procedures were updated. Research into "He-Who-Dwells-Beyond-the-Veil" is pending.

Special Containment Procedures: All 4 instances of SCP-XXXX-A should be kept in safe XXXX-01.
Any additional instances of SCP-XXXX-A discovered should be retrieved and placed within safe XXXX-01. All 7 instances of SCP-XXXX-B should be kept in safe XXXX-02. Safe XXXX-02 is padlocked and only to be accessed with level 3 clearance. Any additionally discovered instances of SCP-XXXX-B should be retrieved and stored in safe XXXX-02. Research into SCP-XXXX is permitted with level 3 approval.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a collection of 11 toy lightsabers made by Kyberlight Sabers. Their anomalous properties manifest when an individual activates the light up feature on the instance. Any individual in contact with SCP-XXXX's handle will take on whatever philosophy associated with the color of the SCP-XXXX instance being held. For simplicity, blue and green instances of SCP-XXXX associated with the "light side" are referred to as SCP-XXXX-A, and red instances associated with the "dark side" are referred to as SCP-XXXX-B. In addition, the blade of SCP-XXXX will behave as an actual plasma blade, burning through anything it comes into contact with, despite only being made out of plastic.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in Locker 44A in Site-77. Testing with SCP-XXXX is permitted with level 2 clearance.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a DVD copy of ███████████████████. The object's anomalous properties become apparent once a subject views the entire film. Immediately after the credits start, any viewers with a memetic resistance score below 30 will become extremely susceptible to indoctrination, regardless of previous beliefs. Subjects can be indoctrinated through film, live speeches, radio broadcasts, one on one conversations and [REDACTED]. Testing is currently ongoing to determine the limits, if any, to what subjects can be indoctrinated with, see testing log for details.

Result: Despite the show's status as a comedy, D-XXXX-7 suddenly became a maniacal paper salesman, despite being completely illiterate and holding no employment prior.

Result: D-XXXX-9 showed resistance to indoctrination throughout the majority of the speech, however, 2 hours after, he began showing Nazi sympathies, and by 24 hours, was a full-fledged supporter of Hitler's policies.
It appears that although subjects require an MRT of 30 or above to fully resist being indoctrinated, having a score close to 30 will allow one to avoid indoctrination for a few hours. -Researcher Devon

It appears SCP-XXXX may not have a limit on how many times a subject can be indoctrinated post viewing, more testing is required. -Researcher Devon
