Randy couldn’t believe it. His sweat just kept pouring and pouring as his feet pounded the ground. There was a scream some distance behind him. “There goes Lidia,” he thought, “Oh fuck, this isn’t the time to make jokes!” There was a rustle of the trees and he picked up his pace. As the trees cleared from lack of forest and start of concrete, Randy saw the bright and beautiful moon. It was so beautiful he could almost cry. If there was one thing that anything should be able to see it was the moon. It was impartial yet loving toward everything. An example of creation through chaos and destruction. Randy ran through the desolate streets of his neighborhood. Well, desolate aside from the blood. Randy’s sweat had dissipated by now as he had made it to the city. At least that’s what his friends called it, it was more a suburb. Not that it really mattered anymore. Nothing really did, being the only one in town now. Hell, maybe the whole country. Out of the corner of his eye, Randy saw Felix’s gun shop. A gun! The item that has solved the most problems. Having stopped thinking since the forest, Randy burst through the window, not bothering to check if the door was unlocked. It was if you were wondering. The Event happened during the middle of the day, so Felix didn’t get the chance to lock up. Either way, Randy ran past the two handed guns, they were too big. He found a hand gun and began fumbling for ammunition. Countless arms began squeezing through the former window. “Shit!” He dropped a few bullets. “Finally! Fully loaded.” Randy carefully positioned the gun at his own head.
