Special Containment Procedures: The containment of SCP-5397 while not impossible, is extreamly difficult to conduct. The only way to contain it [in theory] is to shut down all operating internet servers across the world except for one location. Since wherever is this location will be the only place where the internet is still active, SCP-5397 will[in theory] be stuck in that one location, thus contained. However, this will require the contribution of every nation on earth and a world without the internet would most likely be a world in chaos. As a result, this theoretical containment was never tested.
Description: SCP-5397 is a living being that lives on the internet. While she does not seem to pose any form of threat to man-kind, her intentions is beyond questionable. She uses the internet to travel from one location to another no matter how far or slow it is. She will randomly appear on any electronic devices that have wi-fi build in. Most common devices she is seen and heard from are smartphones, PCs, gaming consoles, MP3 players and modern smart flip-phones. she will randomly select and talk to people who have faced extreme anxiety, insecurities, depression and any other forms of self-doubt. She will engage each person with much enthusiasm and talked them out of their self-doubt. In some extreme cases she even save many people who are thinking of committing suicide. It was estimated that she has talked to over 3,000,000 people and out of those 3,000,000 people she has talked to, not one has failed.
Because of this, the foundation has made high levels of investigation on not only her intentions but also her methods. Whenever anyone tried to take a photo or a screenshot of her when she appears on screen, the resulting image is either a censored face or a scribbled mess of nothingness. Any attempts of either video or audio recording results a censored face and nothing but static respectively. The foundation is also suspicious of the fact that she has never failed in her attempt of saving people, many researchers speculated that she used hypnotic and psychological means to brainwash subjects into thinking that everything is ok. Many researchers questioned that fact that she knows who is suffering form depression and who is not, even when the person is seemingly fine from the outside. Many researchers also noted that out of all of the people she has met with, not one of them is a member of the SCP foundation, further giving out the idea that she is trying to avoid getting spotted. There were rumours that she has chatted and even befriended with Dr. Bright but he denies it.
But despite her amazing capabilities, she does have her limitations. because she is living of the internet she can only go to places where the internet is connected to the world wide web, so she cannot enter places like China or North Korea where the internet is banned. This was further proven by the fact that no one from any nations that have banned the internet have spoken with her, except for those who have a virtual private network or something similar . She is also seemingly only a single living being so she can only go and talked to people one at a time. But because of this the foundation has tried to isolate and contain her in many occasions but all attempts have failed.

CONTEXT-In site[redacted]a D-class was lock in a room with a computer and a wi-fi source. The plan was when the first sign of SCP-5397 appears, they will shut down all internet access in the facility except in that room, trapping her in it. A video camera is installed in the room to monitor all progress.
RESULT-fail
CAUSE OF FAILURE: The moment the D-class has engaged with SCP-5397 the operating staff ordered a shut down on the internet in the site. but despite that in 10 minutes she fled to the nearest active Wi-fI source which is 12 miles away from site[redacted].
REMARKS: During the 10 minutes of its isolation, she has engaged with the D-class who has a high case of anxiety and depression. Within that 10 minutes she has talked him out of his depressive state and is seemingly free from any form of anxiety. He described SCP-5397 as an female angel with a beautiful voice and filled with optimism. But based on the camera footage, the monitor shows nothing but static and her voice is not even recorded, making the D-class sound like he was talking to himself.
TEST#2
LOCATION-Taiwan
CONTEXT-The Taiwanese Government has agreed to assist the containment of SCP-5397 on 23:00 PM January-XX-XXXX. The containment effort will require baiting SCP-5397 into the Taiwanese internet and when she takes the bait, all internet servers in Taiwan will shut down except in XXXXXXX Taipei for 10 minutes and the Taiwanese government will tell the media a fake story about a nationwide wi-fi malfunction. The test will in theory isolate SCP-5397 from the rest of the world because she has no where to jump to except for XXXXXXX Taipei witch will be the isolation point.
RESULT-fail
CAUSE OF FAILURE: When the internet was shut down nation wide, she was stuck in XXXXXXX Taipei for 31 seconds before vanishing and fleeing to XXXXX Philippines.
REMARKS: Moments after she fled to the Philippines, the Taiwanese authorities reported to the foundation that they have received a message from an unknown user. The message reads:"‚¢‚½‚¸‚ç" which means "pranked" in Japanese.
HISTORY: Her first known appearance was on Oct-17-2007. A video on the Japanese video sharing website NicoNicoDounga, features a man in his late 30's named [REDACTED] explains how at one point has been saved by an "angel" from his attempt on suicide. In the video, he describes the entity as a female angel with an optimistic personality and she had talked him out of his depressive state. At first many dismissed him as a mad man but soon many more people has began to report about her sightings. Many people from several nations has put claims on the internet of encountering her.
Eventually the overwhelming reports on the media became too big to ignore and the SCP foundation finally took an examination on August 31st [REDACTED]. The foundation recruited several people who have made claims of encountering SCP 5397 and conducted interviews of each subjects prospectively.
During the Interviews however, Many subjects perspectives on SCP 5397 may vary in drastic ways. Some of them include but not limited to –
- A female angel who appears to be in her late 20 resembling an anime character ( most common)
- A raceless man who appears to be in his 20s and takes the form of a therapist.
- A 11 year old boy who appears to be European descended
- A female scientist who appears to be her mid 30
- A teenage Japanese girl
- An African – American who appears to be president of [ REDACTED ] (least common)
The foundation is still questioning if this means that SCP 5397 can take the form of anything she choses or that there are several instances of SCP 5397.
REMARKS BY DR. TAKESHI
-PLAY LOG- This is most definitely sickening and exciting for me. On one hand we are finally dealing with an SCP that al least is not a hazard to the human race AND and a SCP that can actually be beneficial to us. But I cannot have my hopes up for the foundation is still having questions about this whole damn thing. We threw our budgets and even have a whole damn nation on our side to contain SCP 5397 to no success.
The 05s are most definitely running out of patience now. They are considering to change her from a Keter class to an Apollyon class but hey lets not get ahead of ourselves. But I can understand their concerns for SCP 5397’s Intentions. I mean she cannot be THAT kind right? Maybe she is secretly taking something back in return or maybe she is putting our guard down for a XK-class end of the world scenario or she is a message sent by an alien race anything really stupid to explain her existence really.
But its funny really, Out of all things we at the foundation contain, the most dangerous thing we go after is actually the most harmless one. But, and this is most likely my biggest “but” yet, knowing foundation history; I fear that one day if we do finally give her a pardon and let her roam the internet freely, She would suddenly snap and start killing everyone. That would be another time when the foundation was too late to recognise the threat of an anomalous being.
