SCP-XXXX should be kept on a PC without access to the internet or any other means of communication to other devices. Anyone contaminated by SCP-XXXX should immediately report or be reported to a researcher. The contaminated, hereby known as SCP-XXXX-1, are then to be sealed in a three by three by three-meter room. In the event of a containment breach, anyone contaminated by SCP-XXXX must be isolated from any means of communication through devices with access to virtual communication, including but not limited to mobile phones, computers, and laptops.

Description

SCP-XXXX is an HWP file that goes by the name of MeshPolyA12. After downloading and opening SCP-XXXX, symbols that have not been identified in any known language will appear on the affected screen. Once these symbols have manifested onto a device, they will begin to manifest inside SCP-XXXX-1's retina. SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to see these symbols during the rapid eye movement stage of sleep. During this time the symbols will begin to form into bleeding, highly disfigured, and emaciated humanoid figures. After approximately 3 days after the incident (This is an incubation period), the figures, begin to manifest to SCP-XXXX-1 while they are awake. The average human may survive two days during this phase, while humans with stronger mental health may even destroy the SCP’s attempt to overcome them, especially after being made aware that they can survive. If SCP-XXXX-1 does not have a strong enough will or mental health, SCP-XXXX-1 falls under the control of SCP-XXXX. Once SCP-XXXX-1 Is under the control of SCP-XXXX it will attempt to spread SCP-XXXX's file to as many other potential hosts as it can. From this point on SCP-XXXX-1 will refuse food and water. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are known to use force in attempts to spread SCP-XXXX.

Addendum:

04/11/████: So far, any attempts to remove or delete SCP-XXXX from the effected device have resulted in device crashes and the pasting of SCP-XXXX’s file on the device screen, so far concluding that it is impossible to avoid SCP-XXXX once it has been downloaded on your device.

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX Is to be kept within a sealed box. This box should be locked at all times and should only be opened for cleaning. Cleaning must be authorized and surveyed by the site manager.

While cleaning, everyone within twenty metres of SCP-XXXX must wear a gas mask with P3 filters to ensure that AHG-A is not inhaled. Anyone who inhales AHG-A must be detained and monitored for two hours, after this period is over continuous checkups and monitoring should take place over the next week.

If any site staff have inhaled AHG-B, they are to be quarantined for two weeks. Monitoring should continue for up to a month after the initial inhalation. All of the substances that SCP-XXXX produces should be incinerated after cleaning.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is a stuffed toy resembling a cat with two lopsided plastic eyes and tattered fur. It appears to date from around 1852 however no trademarks are present.

SCP-XXXX releases a hallucinatory amnestic known as AHG-A into the air around it. This amnestic is effective at up to twenty metres. Upon inhaling AHG-A the affected will begin to feel slight headaches and memory loss.
After about three minutes the victim will begin to hallucinate, the most common hallucination being that the victim will begin to believe that they are an infantile child inside of their bedroom.

They will then begin to feel the urge to embrace SCP-XXXX. If the victim is unable to embrace SCP-XXXX, they will begin to cry and throw childish tantrums until AHG-A has worn off. AHG-A is relatively harmless however if an individual is exposed to it for a prolonged period of time, long term sensory damage can occur.

Overtime SCP-XXXX appears to produce a mixture of tar, soot, and blood which seeps from the seams within the stitching. Over a week, a volume of around forty millilitres of this substance will be produced. If not cleaned out regularly this substance will begin to create a stronger version of AHG-A known as AHG-B. Particles of AHG-B are extremely small, hard to contain and filter out of the air. AHG-B has long term damage including loss of hearing, anterograde amnesia, and in some cases, permanent hallucinations.

The tantrums caused by AHG-B are also much more violent and may cause the victim to become feral. Due to this, the cleaning of SCP-XXXX must be done regularly. If SCP-XXXX is not cleaned regularly, a site-wide containment breach could occur.

Addendum:

SCP-XXXX was initially discovered after several school-age children had been reported missing in Dartmouth, United Kingdom.

Initial police searches had uncovered that the children had been exploring Dartmouth castle. During their exploration, they stumbled upon a crawl space that led into the secret passageways of the castle.

Initial police rescue attempts resulted in five local police officers reported as MIA and two suffering from permanent hallucinations. This brought attention to the foundation and MTF Delta-8 was deployed.

Delta 8-1: Command, I’m about 27 meters from the entrance and there's this toy cat thingy on top of a mountain of that sticky substance.

Command: Can you retrieve the toy? It may be the anomalous item.

Delta 8-1: I’ll try.

Delta 8-1: Command, I have retrieved the toy, Heading back now.

Command: Affirmative, is there anything unusual about the toy?

Closing Statement:

Delta 8-5 received treatment and was unaffected by the incident after the effects of AHG-A had worn off. Delta 8-1 is in a permanent state of illusion and has lost all hearing. All attempts to reverse the effects of AHG-B have failed. The rest of Delta 8 returned unaffected however were quarantined for two months upon return.
