Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a glass storage unit with one security camera. SCP-XXXX-1 must be kept inside SCP-XXXX at all times. Locks on SCP-XXXX are to be changed every six months, with additional changes as needed. Aside from lock changes, no on-site personnel are to interact with SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-1.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a dark wooden box measuring 5’’ by 6’’. The box’s lid depicts ornate carvings of swirls and dashes; attempts to decode these carvings have been unsuccessful.

SCP-XXXX was originally discovered at an archeology site in 2013. Student researcher Audrey ███████ was admitted for severe injuries caused by SCP-XXXX-1, at which point the Foundation was contacted.
SCP-XXXX-1, originally found inside SCP-XXXX, is a golden medallion resembling the Eye of Providence. When it was first found, SCP-XXXX-1 possessed no other exemplary features. However, upon physical contact with Ms. ███████, the eye was reported to gain a black hue.

When an individual comes into contact with SCP-XXXX-1, their eyes are replaced by a dark void. Said individual is instantly rendered blind; attempts to restore vision through medical procedures have proven fruitless. Once a second individual comes into contact with SCP-XXXX-1, vision is restored to the first individual. Subjects have reported seeing in grayscale directly after vision restoration; additionally, colorblind individuals have reported longer periods before a return of full vision.

Further tests have concluded that SCP-XXXX-1 cannot be physically handled. Attempts using welding gloves and similar apparatuses have resulted in loss of vision. During transfer to Site 35, D-Class personnel successfully used metal tongs for handling of SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX itself has reported to be harmless. Its only extramundane characteristic is an inability to break. Tests using crushers and machinery equipment have proven fruitless.
