Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX requires no special containment and both SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B function as would be expected. However, after the Doctor Skinning scenario authorization is now required to enter SCP-XXXX's containment to reduce exposure to mental manipulation.

Description: SCP-XXXX-A has the appearance of an average pet parakeet and SCP-XXXX-B an ordinary 9mm glock. The anomaly in question is that when a subject is found alone in a room with the two SCPs they begin to telepathically communicate with the subject.

SCP-XXXX-A has been observed to praise the subject with seemingly random praise while SCP-XXXX-B will berate the subject with negativity. Interestingly the comments are not always grounded in reality and more often than not come from the subjects own thoughts.

Addendum:
SCP-XXXX was retrieved from a local residence in Miami, Florida. Neighbors reported gun shots coming from the residence and when police arrived on scene it appeared to be a murder-suicide. Local resident Luis Garcia had killed his presumed girlfriend, confirmed by neighbors, Mirana Martinez. The Foundation first had suspicion of possible SCP involvement when the local police reports mentioned officers hearing voices when alone in the house. Later once the evidence was collected our suspicions were confirmed once SCP-XXXX-A was reported mysteriously appearing in the evidence room SCP-XXXX-B was stored in, even though the parakeet was left at the Garcia residence for family to retrieve. When the Foundation arrived to retrieve the parakeet they soon found out that the weapon Luis had used to commit the crime was also, in fact, a SCP. At the time the SCPs were classified separately.

When the Garcia family was questioned about Luis they were surprised to find out he was in possession of a gun never having interest in them beforehand. They also had no knowledge of the pet parakeet as he never mentioned anything about a pet to them. Pertinent information was gathered from a friend of Luis who said that Luis once brought up concerns of adultery from his partner giving a possible motive for the crime.

Once the SCPs arrived at the foundation they were initially placed in separate containment's, but it would not take long before SCP-XXXX-A would mysteriously appear in the same containment as SCP-XXXX-B. Video feed was no help in determining the anomaly as the feed would always cut as it happened and human observation also yielded similar failed results where as soon as the observers would blink or look away SCP-XXXX-A would vanish and reappear near SCP-XXXX-B. However through testing it was discovered that as long as SCP-XXXX-A was within the vicinity of SCP-XXXX-B it had no reason to mysteriously move.

After a few subjects were exposed to SCP-XXXX it was determined that the SCP affected people entirely on a psychological level and that Dr. Skinning, a lead psychologist here at the Foundation, would lead further testing.

Initial physical testing of SCP-XXXX-A yielded no known abnormalities. All blood tests and physicals indicated that the Parakeet was perfectly healthy. While the Foundation had no interest in radically testing the physical boundaries of the parakeet in fear of harming or possibly killing it. Instead a simple test was conducted by Dr. Skinning, instead of feeding the parakeet food that had all of its dietary requirements a few were left out of subsequent feedings. Future blood tests and physicals on the parakeet showed no sign of any change in the bird indicating it might not require any sustenance despite acting as if it were hungry when feeding time approached.

Initial testing of SCP-XXXX-B also made it out to seem like a completely normal firearm. The gun would fire normally in a shooting range and could even be taken apart and reassembled. If parts were left out of the reassembly or if the gun was not loaded it would not fire, if the subject firing was aware of these facts. A test conducted had a subject who had no background knowledge of firearms or of SCP-XXXX fire the gun. The subject was able to fire the gun until the researchers told him to stop. The test was successful from the subjects point of view, he was able to shoot nine rounds down range with no malfunctions from the gun. However, the gun was not loaded, essential parts to the firing mechanism were missing, and the gun could only hold seven rounds.

This concluded physical tests to SCP-XXXX and the following are logs collected from subjects exposed to the psychological stress or confidence given by the SCP.
