Ethics Committee Memo XXXX-66
As of 06/28/19██, the containment procedures for SCP-XXXX have been updated and modernized to reflect both the current ideals of the Foundation, as well as a more refined understanding of the anomaly. The original containment procedures for SCP-XXXX have been archived and may be accessed by any researcher of at least Level 3 clearance (see Addendum-XXXX-01).
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Potential SCP-XXXX instances are to be monitored for via a Class 3B webcrawler designated 3B-0125, which has been programmed to passively search and analyze massive amounts of internet data, primarily social media, government documents, and local news organizations, and flag any data that meets specific criteria (outlined in Document XXXX-0628-01) and alert assigned research teams to investigate.
In the event of a confirmed potential instance of SCP-XXXX still yet to reach Stage 1, a Level 2 Foundation field agent will be dispatched to the region on stand-by and passive observation will be conducted for a period of 6 months. If the instance reaches Stage 1, field agent will interrupt instance, attempt to undermine it, and, if necessary, administer Class B amnestics to all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. Any Stage 2 instances of SCP-XXXX will authorize the dispatch of Mobile Task Force Pi-1 ("City Slickers") to detain all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 and transport them to Site-██ for interrogation, administering of amnestics before releasing instances back into the civilian population, and/or potentially termination. The presence of a Stage 3 instance authorizes termination of all SCP-XXXX-1, -2, and -3 instances. Buildings containing Stage 2 and 3 instances are to be incinerated and demolished and appropriate cover story used. Stage 3B instances of SCP-XXXX are to be considered self-contained and irretrievable to the Foundation at this current time, although Foundation personnel should be stationed near the structured affected by the anomaly for observation. No action need be taken on any building once containing a Stage 3B instance.
Along with these updated containment procedures, the Ethics Committee have secured resources to be devoted to covertly supporting social and political movements as outlined in Document-XXXX-I125-EC.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous human social structure. Affected humans participating in said social order are designated as SCP-XXXX-1. Instances of SCP-XXXX can vary, but all have the presence of a number of key components whose presence is indicative of what stage the instance of SCP-XXXX has reached, as follows:
All instances primarily feature a matriarchal power structure, with generally one human women within the social group considered as a leader figure (hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-2), although at least ██ recorded instances of SCP-XXXX have featured two or more women instances of SCP-XXXX-2, and █ recorded instances of SCP-XXXX-2 that were overtly feminine in presentation but did not did not identify as women. Interviews with detained SCP-XXXX-1 instances have almost always resulted in SCP-XXXX-2 being described as "motherly" or "maternal" in some way. SCP-XXXX-2 is subject to all anomalous traits as SCP-XXXX-1, except as mentioned otherwise.
All recorded instances of SCP-XXXX have featured examples of non-traditional romantic or sexual relationships, almost always featuring same-gender unions, and oftentimes featuring unions with more than 2 individuals. Such relationships involve SCP-XXXX-2 in some capacity in ██% of anomalous cases. Instances of SCP-XXXX usually contain multiple such relationships, with SCP-XXXX-2 often being featured as both a leader and central romantic partner for the group.
The vast majority of SCP-XXXX instances are centered within urban areas, eventually progressing to total cohabitation within a single structure (apartment buildings, flats, townhouses, etc), oftentimes without major concern for individual privacy as the instance progresses. Generally this structure is fairly isolated from humans not a part of SCP-XXXX, but rarely is it completely closed off, and SCP-XXXX-1 instances almost always enthusiastically welcome humans who express interest in integrating into SCP-XXXX. A few recorded instances featured within rural communes set up by the SPC-XXXX-1 instances, but the isolating location and tendency for close cohabitation are consistent with urban instances.
A significant link between all SCP-XXXX-1 instances is a strong fear of society outside of SCP-XXXX. Said fears are almost always linked to significant social and political opposition to major aspects of SCP-XXXX-1's identity, and oftentimes these fears are backed by lived experience of various methods of violence enacted on SCP-XXXX-1. Interviewed instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have expressed a need for safety and trusted companionship that compels them to cohabitate and isolate themselves.
It is noted that the above behaviors are not part of the anomaly, merely common factors for its manifestation.
|
It is not currently known what factors cause SCP-XXXX instances to progress to Stage 1 and become anomalous, as only █% of instances detected with the criteria outlined above and within Document XXXX-0628-01 will progress to Stage 1. Because of this, passive observation and research of potential SCP-XXXX instances has been approved.
A description of the traits of the various stages and their catalyst for transition from one stage to the next is available below.
| Stage |
Catalyst |
Description |
| S-1 |
Unknown |
- Dramatic increase in isolation, nearly all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will discontinue leaving residence except when required for repairs or obtaining necessary income or food.
- Cessation of all verbal communication between instances, however instances do not have any additional difficulty in communicating with each other. (Effect seems to be facilitated via pheremones emitted from SCP-XXXX-1 along with rapid development of the extrastriate visual cortex of the brain.)
- Marked increase in physical intimacy with romantic and sexual partners.
- SCP-XXXX-2 anomalously manifests the internal organs necessary to gestate a large insect egg similar to the *Xylocopa* genus, as well as manifesting the egg itself. The egg will always be fertilized regardless of whether or not SCP-XXXX-2 is sexually active.
|
| S-2 |
The conclusion of SCP-XXXX-2's gestation period. SCP-XXXX-2 expels the egg from its body. |
- All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 instinctively know when catalyst event will happen, with all instances attending the event and caring for SCP-XXXX-2 throughout the ordeal with a ceremonial and reverent tone.
- Instances begin carving out circular holes in the walls, floor, and ceilings of the building approximately 10-12 centimeters in diameter with their bare hands (their bodies will suffer no lasting damage from this, even when these surfaces are constructed of solid wood, brick, or concrete).
- Instances almost immediately begin secreting a waxy substance from their abdomens. These secretions are used to coat cavities created by SCP-XXXX-2 as well as used as a food source
- Once the first such cavity is completed, SCP-XXXX-2 gently place the egg within the space, and then proceed to lie upon the floor equidistant from all walls within the room.
- SCP-XXXX-2 begin gestating eggs at an accelerated rate, laying an average of 7-13 per day, while other SCP-XXXX-1 instances continue to excavate the building to accommodate them.
- Instances cease all contact with the outside, refusing to cease their activities and leave the building unless forced
- Instances become incredibly fearful of outsiders, oftentimes breaking into tears or screaming when non-anomalous humans enter the residence. SCP-XXXX-1 instances never behave with violence
|
| S-3 |
Hatching of the first egg |
- Hatched eggs reveal large, vaguely humanoid, insectal larvae, designated SCP-XXXX-3.
- SCP-XXXX-1 instances will begin splitting duties between themselves of constructing cavities for more eggs and feeding larvae.
- All SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 instances will begin developing polysaccharide growths on their skin, slowly enveloping them in a full chitinous exoskeleton.
- Hume levels in the area will rise and the interior of the building will begin to take on a more unrefined and natural appearance, such as that of a naturally occurring stone cavern.
|
| S-3B |
Simultaneous completion of SCP-XXXX-1's chitinous growths and maturity of SCP-XXXX-3. |
- The entirety of SCP-XXXX's inhabitants will cease to exist on this level of reality, seemingly disappearing completely
- The building occupied by SCP-XXXX will have signs of disrepair and distress but will be roughly identical to it's state prior to Stage 2.
- Hume levels will continue to be anomalously high within that region, although no anomalous effects on reality have been noticed at any Stage 3B location.
|
It is theorized that SCP-XXXX collectively creates a extradimensional pocket in reality, with the borders of said reality being manifested via the SCP-XXXX's collective fears towards outside society being channeled through SCP-XXXX-2, raising its Hume level and giving it limited reality bending properties in order to instinctively create a pocket of total isolation.
As per Ethics Committee Memo XXXX-66, the following archived copy of the original containment procedures for SCP-XXXX are available below with relaxed security restrictions. Said document is dated ██/██/1907.
Item Number: XXXX-125
Classification Type: Unpredictable
Protocols for Containment: One level 3 researcher is to preside over 10-15 Level 1 Research assistants in combing through copies of newspapers and police reports from around the country for signs of instances of Phenomenon XXXX-125. Special attention should be made to mentions of groups of homosexuals, sodomites, queers, adulterers, the sexually unfaithful, unmarried and secular women, and other criteria outlined in Memorandum-XXXX-07, with particular urgency given to women occupying male positions of authority. Instances found must be dealt with via Foundation agents before they can become anomalous, with all involved humans being detained, interrogated, subjected to a memory-impairing dosage of a mixture of opiates and chloroform designated Compound-3000, and turned over to local authorities on charges of immoral behavior contrary to the order of nature.
Because of the risk involved in allowing the above stated undesirable groups to congregate, use of Foundation resources has been approved to assist in actively opposing any social or legislative efforts to undermine the natural order as part of Section-XXXX-13.
Description: Phenomenon XXXX-125 is an anomalous congregation of the degenerate members of society wherein such undesirables are grouped together in single structure co-habitation under the authority of the female sex (although in a very small number of cases such groups were organized around men displaying a mockery of such). Said communities feature improper, promiscuous, and unfaithful unions, often including homosexual acts between multiple men or women. Such communities will isolate themselves from proper society in a single building to hide their behavior from the world.
Slowly over the course of 1-3 months, Phenomenon XXXX-125 will progress and alter the behavior of all involved humans, altering their behavior and eventually appearance to become more insectoid in nature. The female leader of XXXX-125 will also begin to birth large eggs in form not unlike those of carpenter bees, which will hatch after a few days. Once the first egg is produced, involved humans will attempt to modify their domicile to accommodate them, and said humans will begin to undergo an insectoid metamorphosis at an accelerated rate.
If the Phenomenon is allowed to reach its apex once eggs hatch, reach maturity, and humans complete metamorphosis, the individuals affected by XXXX-125 will vanish from this world along with any trace of their habitation.
Postscript: Some Foundation members have suggested the deliberate lack of containment of Phenomenon XXXX-125 to dispose of undesirables within our society, however it is the official stance of this Foundation that the use of medical castration for those affected of the homosexual mindset, and the privilege of beatings for the unfaithful and virtuousless women found to be a part of XXXX-125, as well as standard punitive legal actions, to be far more preferable to ensure that those affected may be encouraged to correct their behavior and properly integrate as productive members of society.
