SCP-XXXX observed in daylight.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: MTF are required to patrol the far West end of Route D-010 for trespassing civilians. If during a standard patrol anything out of the ordinary occurs, all units should evacuate from the area. All personnel or staff on standby to enter SCP-XXXX are to remain on the borders of the Sinop Providence. All entering staff must pass through Checkpoints R-U before granted passage into SCP-XXXX. If any organism or specimen is found within the area that SCP-XXXX occupies, it is to be immediately put in captivity and escorted to the nearest research center for testing. If at any time does the specimen restrain with visible force or begin to show perilous aggression, it is mandatory that it is terminated.
All unauthorized human subjects exposed to SCP-XXXX are to be put in custody, interviewed, and terminated depending on the state of decay or within the frontal or temporal lobe of the brain.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a mountainous area which roughly covers a radius of 21.3 km, directly off Route D-010 located in Turkey. The area shares similar features with the surrounding region, but is constantly covered in a thick, humid fog. The fog has been observed to change according to nearby weather patterns, though it has never vanished. The fog limits the average visibility of the naked eye without a mask. It has been noted to contain low amounts of carbonyl sulfide. Up South in the area are multiple large unidentified objects, standing an estimated 200 ft. in height. The structures have a cylindrical shape, and dig underground. It is unknown how the objects appeared, or when they did.
Upon entering the radius of SCP-XXXX, any subject will be deprived of their breath, and their body will trigger a sense of dehydration. Remaining in the area for longer than 30 minutes without proper equipment will make the subject feel symptoms of a migraine. This state is prolonged until the victim either leaves, or suffers severe damage to the brain. If the subject remains in the area and travels closer towards the structures, the migraine symptoms will intensify and be accompanied by visions of unintelligible objects, buildings, or organisms. Staying in this state for too long will force the victim to go insane. Proper gear will prevent this only for an extended period of time. Moving within 700 meters of the structure will cause intense hallucinations and alter skin pigmentation. The closest distance recorded to the structure is 200 meters, which caused utter loss of bone structure and hair, organ failure, which leads to death. Equipment fails to prevent damage once within 700 meters.
Specimen that have been captured in the area have major mutations that often kill them within days. They are often violent and feral, attacking anything it is able to.
