Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is not able to be contained, however instances of SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 must be doused in roughly 1,000-1,200 grams of Salt (Sodium Chloride) every 36 hours to prevent further spread and contamination of surrounding environments and organisms. SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 are to be carefully guarded with at least 3-4 armed personnel carrying military grade flamethrowers at all times, and a gate is to be installed in a 1.5 kilometer radius of the contamination site. If possible, the transfer of entity SCP-XXXX-3 is to be done with the utmost care. In the event of contamination of any personnel or other organisms, they are to isolated and then doused with flame for at least 5 minutes, or until the subject has been completely charred and deemed exterminated.
One subject of SCP-XXXX-2 and another of SCP-XXXX-3 are being held at site-██ and site-██ respectively. SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 are not be he held at the same location in fear of a containment breach. Objects such as radios and access cards are never to be within the reach of SCP-XXXX-3.
In the event of a containment breach, all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 are to be sought out and eliminated, as well as any individuals who have made contact with SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3. In the event of total contamination of a citizen area, the U.S. military is to be contacted in order to completely destroy the contaminated area, use of nuclear armaments may be necessary.
Description: SCP-XXXX is some sort of alternate dimension or multi-dimensional pocket, the origins of which are unknown. The only known entrance to SCP-XXXX is located in [█████████] Arizona, roughly 10 kilometers away from the nearest town. This entrance can only be described as a gnarled and twisted tree, seeming to spiral into a single point. All the other flora and even ground itself can be seen to twist and contort in the same anomalous manner, not abiding to the usual laws of physics. Recording and imaging equipment cannot be sent into SCP-XXXX, however humans and even some animals can be sent in. Those who have entered SCP-XXXX have noted its confusing and bizarre layout, with what appears to be water flowing upward and sideways along with several multicolored surfaces contorting and spiraling for an indeterminable amount. The limits of SCP-XXXX are also unknown, and what appears to be the sky of SCP-XXXX seems to have been a different color depending on the viewer. To some the sky took on an incomprehensible form of colors they could not describe to the on-site researchers. Inside of SCP-XXXX, several humanoid figures were described, which have now been presumed to be SCP-XXXX-3. Those who entered SCP-XXXX also begun to take on anomalous properties, as seen that their fingerprints had been completely changed as well as the hair on their body began to slowly curl and spiral among itself after about 15 minutes post-exposure to SCP-XXXX.
Once the process of "spiralification" begins, that organism is now to be classified as SCP-XXXX-2, and begins to show its own unique anomalous properties. Each instance of SCP-XXXX-2 happens over different spans of time, and the result is often varied. However what remains constant among SCP-XXXX-2 is the distortion of human anatomy, often with the same theme of spiraling and curling unnaturally. One instance of SCP-XXXX-2 even showed the elongation and morphing of the subjects tongue, which grew and spiraled to be about 5 meters in length. The overall process of "spiralification" takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 6 hours, and is observed to take place in three distinct stages. Stage 1 is known as the "infection stage," and during this period several small anatomical anomalies can be observed. Some recorded anomalies were observed in human hair, irises, skin cells, and even in human DNA. What marks the end of the "infection stage" is the subject's complete loss of the ability to respond to stimuli or move. The beginning of the second stage, named the "stagnation stage," describes the state of the subject mere moments after the end of the first stage. First, the subject immediately assumes the fetal position and their skin becomes stiff and immediately dry. Attempts to remove SCP-XXXX-2 from this position have proved unsuccessful. Secondly, SCP-XXXX-2 will then begin to open its mouth in an inhuman manner, sometimes even bending the jaw down to touch the subjects collar bone. After this, the third stage begins. The third stage is known as the "mutilation stage," named for the common theme of the distortion and mangling of the human body that occurs in this stage. What happens specifically is varied and seemingly random, however the end result is always a distorted human body, nearly unrecognizable from its original form. After the end of the "spiralification" process, the environment around SCP-XXXX-2 will also begin to contaminate and start the same procedure if not properly contained. After roughly 36 minutes after the "spiralification" process, SCP-XXXX-3 can be observed climbing out of what remains of SCP-XXXX-2's mouth.
SCP-XXXX-3 can be described as a humanoid figure with dried and malnourished skin. What resembles a rib cage and bones can be seen beneath the skin, as SCP-XXXX-3's skin tissue is pulled tightly around the bone and "organs." An autopsy of SCP-XXXX-3 revealed that its organs served no actual biological function, and only seem to serve the purpose of mimicking the human figure. The face of SCP-XXXX-3 seems to spiral inward to an unknown point, as the flesh that makes up the spiral itself is cracked and peeling. SCP-XXXX-3 is extremely hostile, and will seek out any organisms nearby. Upon physical contact with the organism, they will turn into SCP-XXXX-2 and begin the "Spiralification" process. SCP-XXXX-3 is not capable of intelligent thought or conversation, however is is capable of mimicking the sounds it is exposed to. How it does this is unknown, as several autopsies revealed no vocal chords whatsoever. What is strange about how SCP-XXXX-3 mimics sounds, is that it often takes several attempts or is entirely unsuccessful at perfectly replicating the sound. These attempts are marked by vocal distortions, the mixing up of words or entire sequences, and usually several playbacks in reverse. This behavior shows that SCP-XXXX-3 is incredibly adaptive and has the capacity to learn simple task. In certain tests, SCP-XXXX-3 could even mimic the effects of man-made objects, such as a simple level-1 access card. How it achieves this effect is unknown and still being researched.
