Item #: SCP - 2835
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP - 2835 is to be kept in a locked storage room, covered at all times by an opaque cloth inside facility REDACTED. In the event of SCP - 2835 - 1 taking place, SCP - 2835 - 2 is to be terminated, SCP - 2835 to be covered again from the rear and moved to storage room 34. A guard must be stationed by SR-34 at all times. Only personnel with level 3 access or higher may enter SR-34.

Description:

SCP - 2835 is a 40×167cm full-sized floor mirror made of galvanized steel and coated with polyester. It is simple in architecture and offers no differences to a normal mirror of the same shape. If a subject gazes into SCP - 2835, they will find a reflection of themselves, albeit in a depressive, lethargic mood. The subject's emotions while viewing their reflection seems not to affect that of the reflection itself, and attempts at changing said state of emotions have all failed.
The reflection of the subject will follow the subject around, as long as said subject is in clear view of the mirror. If the subject, after viewing their own reflection, were to move away from the mirror, and walk back in front of it, the reflection will dissappear, thus creating the event SCP - 2835 - 1. While SCP - 2835 - 1 is active, the subject that triggered it, thereby named SCP - 2835 - 2 will not see their reflection in the mirror, despite being in clear view of it. Afterwards, the subject will start behaving erratically, showing creeping signs of anxiety, that will eventually escalate into a panic attack, and at its peak, the name of a loved one will be shouted by the subject, alongside pleas in hopes of keeping said loved one out of harm's reach. Whoever owns the name the subject pronounced would then find death, followed by 2835 - 2 sharing an obsessive urge to destroy the mirror. During both the states of panic, and the ensuing obsession with destroying the mirror, 2835 - 2 will not respond to any outside interaction. It is also noteworthy to state that 2835 - 2's eyes will roll into the back of their heads during the first state, albeit not in the second. The mirror, upon destruction, will reassemble itself, and the reflection of the subject will reappear in the mirror, thus restarting event 2835 - 1 again and again, until the process ends with the subject's own death.
Addendum #1:

Attempts to break the mirror while SCP - 2835 - 1 is active have all resulted in failure, no matter the tools used.

Addendum #2:

While SCP - 2835 - 1 is active, it seems that an exact replica of its victim, akin to a "doppelganger", labeled SCP - 2835 - 3, can be traced around and and close to the person whose name the subject shouts at the extent of their panic attack. The resulting deaths are believed to be directly caused by said doppelganger, who seems to evaporate afterwards, most likely back into the mirror after its destruction and reassembly.
Addendum #3:

Attempts to move away the shards of glass from the mirror after the events of SCP - 2835 - 1 may cause the remover to fix their eyes at their own reflection in the broken shards, thus triggering a chain reaction of SCP - 2835 - 1 to catastrophic results. SCP - 2835 - 2 will also attempt to recollect the shards and place them back in front of the mirror, through whatever means possible. 2835 - 2 will possess, in cases of struggle, extraordinary strength and seems to take upon the mirror's indestructible attribute until said goal is achieved. SCP - 2835 - 3 seems to make no appearances during that phase.

Addendum #4:

Following 2835-1, any subject that enters into contact with SCP - 2835 is to be terminated before it breaks 2835's surface. 2835 is to be then covered again as to prevent any further victims.

Addendum #5:

If the subject, after launching SCP - 2835 - 1, is removed from the same room inside which resides SCP - 2835, they will enter a catatonic state, triggering 2835 - 3 to instead end the life of the subject. SCP 2835 - 3 seems to be fixated on its victims, and will ignore all other interactions. Attempts at destroying SCP 2835 - 3 have proven to be successful, although its destruction is temporary, and it will reappear as long as the subject is still alive. Attempts to halt the process have all but succeeded.
