Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5527 is to be kept in a tungsten 10m x 10m x 10m room in Site 02, at all times. Once every month, this room must be manually cleaned for blood. SCP-5527 must be guarded at all times. The walls of SCP-5527's room should be coated in approximately seven centimeter thick acid-resistant metal.

Description: SCP-5527 is a fleshy-humanoid like animal discovered in ██████, France, in the year 19██. SCP-5527 is currently indeterminable in origin, though tissue samples indicate the presence of Human, Sheep, Cow, Mussel, and Goat DNA. They are hairless, stained with a thin layer of an albumin-like excretion, and stand at an average of 2.7 meters. Its weight averages 90 kg for a matured instance, and 18 kg for a baby. Autopsy has determined that the cervical vertebrae of a mature SCP-5527 instance is composed of cartilage, rather than bone. This enables the neck and throat to twist and dislocate to around 340° in either direction, aiding their unusual reproductive cycle. SCP-5527 shows very little facial features.

SCP-5527 are opportunistic hunters, engaging with live subjects within a radius of 10m. Average speed is recorded at 20 km/h. Upon contact with human or animal subjects, SCP-5527 will proceed to ██████, liquefying internal organs and bone structure, killing the subject immediately.

Initial reports of SCP-5527 came direct from the French government through undisclosable channels. These reports consisted primarily of disappearances of people in Brittany, and were not considered until the police, followed by the regional police, and finally a government agent all failed to report in within a 72 hour period. A small military contingent was dispatched to the area and quickly withdrew at which point The Foundation was contacted to investigate.

Incident 5527-2: On May 28, 2002, D-9207 was instructed to cut a piece of SCP-5527 for testing, but SCP-5527 acted very violently to this and SCP-5527 killed D-9207 by breaking his skull. After this, SCP-5527 began emitting loud high frequency noises for around two hours.
