Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be held in a standard 5x5 containment room, with a single entrance. In the middle or the room, should be a 1 metere high column upon which SCP-XXXX shall sit, oriented towards the entrance. Currently SCP-XXXX is being held in Site-██, under the supervision of Dr.████████. Since ██.██.██ all personal who come into contact with SCP-XXXX more than 3 times must report to the medical department for a full psychological analysis. Upon someone showing any signs of fixation with SCP-XXXX, they should be instantly forbidden to approach and/or attempt to open/read SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a old style leather bound book, with a red tinted colour and and no visible prominent markings on the outside. Current estimations have put the page numbers around the thousands. In accordance with the style of the book and observations, the pages seem to be old style papyrus.

However, when any personal approach SCP-XXXX with the intention of opening, reading or any attempt to interpret the text inside the book, whether that be though direct or indirect means, said personal will suddenly and unexplainably change their mind, and subsequently refuse to continue with there past intentions. Upon questioning said personal about there explanation they exhibit increasingly defensive behaviour, and further questioning results in increasingly aggressive behaviour.

It has been observed that personal change their mind roughly 2 meters away from SCP-XXXX. Please note that personal can approach SCP-XXXX, if they have no intention of opening, reading or any attempt to interpret the text inside the book.

Addendum: Personal are actively encouraged to attempt to open and read SCP-XXXX, in the search for someone who can open and read SCP-XXXX. Sessions open Biweekly in which Level 1 personal or higher may attempt to open the book, only one attempt is to be allowed Since ██.██.██ all attempts to read SCP-XXXX are now strictly forbidden by order of O5-█, in respect of the events that lead to the death or Dr.██████¹.

Foreword: A post experiment interview after D-37387 had attempted to read SCP-XXXX and subsequently turned around.

Interviewer: D-37387 why did you turn around when attempting to read SCP-XXXX?

D-37387: Whats the point. I mean, it's just another one of your stupid experiments. Go read it yourself.

Interviewer: I have been made aware that you quite enjoy smoking and that a small amount of tobacco has been provided to you. Is this correct?

D-37387: Yes b…

Interviewer: Do you remember us telling you that refusal to open the book would result in this privilege being removed.

D-37387: Yes, howeve…

Interviewer: So why didn't you just open the book? Surly tobacco is worth more than opening a book to you?

D-37387: Evident agitation shown in his voice I don't have to answer any more of your stupid questions, my choice is my choice.

Interviewer: So you think that not opening a book - some form of rebellion against us - is worth your privilege of tobacco?

D-37387: Becoming even more agitated I didn't read that book because I'm sick of following your instructions over and over just to be thrown back in my cell to nothingness.

Interviewer: It wouldn't be nothingness would it though with your supply of tobacco?

D-37387: Extreme agitation can be heard in his voice That's your fault - you took it away from me just to torture me even more. To make me suffer even more in this hell hole.

Interviewer: But wouldn't…

A shout of anger can be heard and a subsequent scuffle, a door then slams open. A single shot can be heard.

Closing Statement: This interview proposes a quintessential reaction to furthered questioning of personal who refused to open SCP-XXXX.

1. On the ██.██.██ Dr.██████ reported that Dr.██████ had developed a fixation on attempting to read SCP-XXXX. Dr.██████ was subsequently submitted for a full psychological analysis. The results of this psychological analysis showed that Dr.██████ had a severe fixation on SCP-XXXX, and was respectively banned from seeing SCP-XXXX. Dr.██████ then became increasingly unsettled, defensive, agitated and eventually aggressive. At ██:██ Dr.██████ was recorded entering the armoury and taking a Glock 17. 4 minutes later, Dr.██████ attempted to force his way into SCP-XXXX's containment for further testing by taking Dr.█████████ hostage. MTF unit █ was subsequently dispatched and shot Dr.██████ with no other casualties. Dr.██████ died at the impact time of the bullet.
