Hunter Watkins

Item number: SCP-4921

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4921 is to be contained in a stone holding cell, with a wooden door. Hinges and door binding must be made of non metallic rope that can hold up too at least 340 lbs of weight. To keep SCP-4921's anomalous effects dampened, scraps of meat must be fed to it on a daily basis. It's holding area is to be cleaned of droppings on a daily basis.

Description: SCP-4921 is a Male K9, of the Newfoundland bread. The age of SCP-4921 is currently estamated to be 20 years of age, older than the average lifespan of a normal newfoundland's, eight to ten years, lifespan.

SCP-4921 exhibits normal behavior of a k9, however when it is in the presence of Metal or plastic, it causes said materials to decompose faster than the normal rate that these materials decompose at. The area of effect that SCP4921 has is a radius of 100 yards, or up to at least 700 yards if it is hungry.

Plastics such as Propoly, Polyethylene, and Valox have a decomposition rate of 2 minutes, when in the presence of SCP-4921(or 30 seconds if hungry ). This has aslo been tested with fiber glass, and kevlar with similar effects, but varying rates of degradation, all within 10 minutes ( 5.5 minutes when hungry).

Metals such as iron or steel take up to
4 minutes to rust away completely ( 30 seconds when hungry).

[Note from Agent Ferguson]

-During initial Containment, my team attempted to terminate SCP-4921 due to it being within close proximity of [DATA EXPUNGED]

Fire arms were un effective as it seamed bullets would turn to rust on impact. This with the fact that our weapons were falling turning to rust in our hands, we had no choice but to tie the mutt with rope…

SCP-4921 was discovered in the Yellowstone National region. It was wondering a few yards near the sight of [data expunged]. SCP-4921 did not show signs of aggressiveness twards foundation personal. However it's proximity to [DATA EXPUNGED] was cause for concern. Removal of the animal proved to be difficult as most equipment was decomposing in the presence of SCP-4921. After successfully containing the K9, it was moved to sight 19 for research.

Notes on SCP-4921 testing from head researcher Dr. Gabrielle St.Clare.

- Testing fur samples show no sighn of genetic deviation from between Rusty (SCP-4921) and a non anomalous Newfoundland. Everything about him says he is normal. However there is clearly somthing not right about this animal. It consistently walks as close to the walls as possible, as if it is looking for material to destroy. When i tried to take my notes the other day. He sat as close as possible. It took a few moments for me to relize my pens fell apart in my shirt poket. But by then it was too late. They were gone and Rusty just whent about his day. Looking for more to destroy. This may be telling as to why he was in the general area of [DATA EXPUNGED]

Addendum 4921.1

05 council requested an attempt to have SCP-4921 Bred to see if it's anomalous traits can be replicated or passed onto it's offspring.

Addendum 4921.2

Attempts to bread SCP-4921 varied in success. See incident report 4921 for details.

[NOTE FROM 05-09]

- I want to congratulate Dr. Gabrielle Sinclair and her work on the project. She gave an arm and a leg for this project , both figuratively, and literally. Detection like her's should serve as an example to all foundation personal.
