SCP-XXXX-B, named Horris.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A is to be held in a standard humanoid containment cell kept at a temperature above 84°C. SCP-XXXX-B is held in a frosted containment cell far from SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A is kept in a heated cell of aleast 84°C at Site-53 accompanied by SCP-XXXX-B in a frosted cell of at most 13°C nearby so as to provide as comfortable an environment as possible. The cells are lined with steel to discourage containment breaches.

Description: SCP-XXXX-A is a human male, presumably in his late twenties who self-identified as Percy. SCP-XXXX-A’s anomalous traits only manifest when presented with an environment with life-threatening levels of heat, when exposed to these conditions, SCP-XXXX’s body will stay at a temperature of 37°C. This is similar in cold environments, to which he shows mild discomfort with minimal deviations in normal human body temperature going to a minimum of 35°C.

SCP-XXXX-B is a Canis lupus familiar1, more specifically a pure-bred husky. SCP-XXXX-B is shown to always know the location of SCP-XXXX-A, and seeks to remain within a close proximity to SCP-XXXX-A, a desire shared by both. SCP-XXXX-B experiences the same consistent body temperature as SCP-XXXX-A but shows extreme discomfort in high temperatures instead of low temperatures. Tests involving the separation of SCP-XXXX-A from SCP-XXXX-B result in extreme neurochemical fluctuations within SCP-XXXX-A, common with borderline personality disorder with periods of suicidal depression followed by general hysteria and manic episodes. During these periods, SCP-XXXX-B attempts to breach barriers separating them from SCP-XXXX-A to regain the aforementioned physical contact, to inevitable success. Thus-far no common material has shown the ability to stop SCP-XXXX-B’s rejoining to XXXX-A. Temperature changes affecting SCP-XXXX-A cause temperature fluctuations in areas surrounding SCP-XXXX-B.

SCP-XXXX-A has made a list of things he’d like to have in his cell, a log of it will be found below in a list.

Regarding incident SCP-XXXX-B-3A, all future testing has been suspended, and risk class upgraded to caution. - Researcher Samson

Several interviews were conducted with SCP-XXXX-A following it's containment. The logs are listed below.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-1 - December 2nd 2020

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-A

Interviewer: Researcher Samson

Foreword: A small interview was conducted by Researcher Samson to clarify SCP-XXXX-A's appearance and anomaly.

<Begin Log, 09:21 AM>

Researcher Samson: Hello, I'm Dr. Samson, what is your name?

SCP-XXXX-A:: Percy.

Researcher Samson: Alright Percy, I have a few questions.

SCP-XXXX-A:: I'm not sure how comfortable I am with answering your questions seeing as you ripped me from my bed, am I under arrest? Where am I?

Researcher Samson: You aren't under arrest, but it's in your best interest to answer.

SCP-XXXX-A: If I answer some questions, will I get to see my dog?

Researcher Samson: Dog? What dog?

SCP-XXXX-A: My dog, Horris, a big husky? He was with me when you took me.

Researcher Samson: We will see.

Researcher Samson proceeds to note existence of a dog.

SCP-XXXX-A:: I won't answer questions until I get to see Horris.

Researcher Samson: I can't do that for you right now, if you cooperate we might be able to accommodate.

SCP-XXXX-A becomes agitated

SCP-XXXX-A:: No! Get me my dog and we'll talk!

SCP-XXXX-A then proceeded to be uncooperative for the next 10 minutes where the log subsequently ended.

<End Log, 09:43 AM>

Following Interview log SCP-XXXX-A-1, a dog, now deemed SCP-XXXX-B showed up at Site-53. SCP-XXXX-B was relocated to a cell separated from SCP-XXXX-A.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-2-1 - December 5th 2020

Researcher Samson: Hello SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A: Hey. Did you find Horris? I swear I could hear him. I need to see him.

Researcher Samson: Well SCP-XXXX-A, if you cooperate we may be able to accommodate.

SCP-XXXX-A: Listen Samson, you know I need him. Just let me see him. Maybe then we can talk.

Researcher Samson: If you answer some of my questions I might be able to put in a request for you. If you don't you won't be able to see that dog. I just need to know about your heat resistance, SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A: Samson, you know I'm not gonna negotiate, get me my dog and I'll talk!

Researcher Samson: Well I can see this is going nowhere, guards escort SCP-XXXX-A back to it's cell, we'll give it time to think about cooperating.

SCP-XXXX-A: Don't you dare fucking touch me!

SCP-XXXX-A stands up and backs up against the wall as guards grab him and drag him out.

<End Log, 06:21 AM>

After Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-2-1, video logs show SCP-XXXX-A pacing and punching walls then proceeding to sob in a corner.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-2-2 - December 5th 2020

SCP-XXXX-A's mental health seems to be visibly deteriorating, as he paces and scratches his neck, leaving red marks on his skin.

Researcher Samson: Hello SCP-XX-

SCP-XXXX-A immediately cuts off Researcher Samson.

SCP-XXXX-A: You have him, I know you do. Where is he? I hear him scratching.

Researcher Samson: Who are you talking about?

SCP-XXXX-A: You know damn well who I'm talking about! I hear his cries. I hear him. You're insane from keeping him from me, he's alone! He needs me, I need him!

Researcher Samson: If you cooperate with this interview he might be moved into a new cell nearby yours, you may be able to see him.

SCP-XXXX-A: This is completely inhumane, you keep me from my only friend, and the one I love most and then throw me in a goddamn cell and expect me to be happy about this?

SCP-XXXX-A then procedes to scratch at his arms, rather than his neck.

SCP-XXXX-A: I'm not answering questions until you get me my damn dog! I'm done talking.

SCP-XXXX-A continued to be non-compliant until Researcher Samson proceeded to end the interview.

<End Log, 11:45 AM>

SCP-XXXX-A is not to come in contact with SCP-XXXX-B following log SCP-XXXX-A-2 due to non-compliancy. Bad behavior is not to be rewarded.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-3 - December 6th 2020

SCP-XXXX-A's neck is shown to be covered in red marks from the previous log.

Researcher Samson: Hello SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A: "Hello SCP-XXXX-A" don't start that happy little bullshit. I fucking hate it here!

Researcher Samson: I have some questions for you.

SCP-XXXX-A appears to fall into a state of grief.

SCP-XXXX-A: I have some for you too: Do you enjoy watching me crying at night? Do you enjoy watching me get an hour of sleep because I hear his whimpers down the hall? I clearly don't enjoy this shit. Wouldn't it be simpler to just give me him? I'll answer your questions if you do!

SCP-XXXX-A immediately following flew into a fit of rage following that statement, consistent with his diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.

SCP-XXXX-A: This is insane! This is ludicrous, fucking absurd! You know you are a piece of shit right? No better then the fucking slop you feed me, then I proceed to dump into the fucking toilet! You are that slush that coagulates at the bottom. You keep me locked in a room, and expect me to fucking answer your goddamn questions? Goddamn sickening, I'm not gonna spoon feed you answers, you little fucking rat.

Similar to in Interview Log SCP-A-2, SCP-XXXX-A maintained a level of noncompliance and resulted in no new information. Researcher Samson ended the log after 17 minutes.

<End Log, 07:56 AM>

Proceeding Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-3 SCP-XXXX-B has been noted to have caused significant damage to it's holding cell, nearby staff report hearing whining through metal-lined concrete doors. SCP-XXXX-B shows immense signs of distress. Following the interview log, an on-site therapist is to be supplied to SCP-XXXX-A. Requests to relocate SCP-XXXX-B to a cell near SCP-XXXX-A have all been denied.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-4-1 - December 7th 2020

Therapist Rylai: Hello, you must be Percy.

SCP-XXXX-A: Oh, just another asshole in white to torment me…

Therapist Rylai: No, no, I'm your designated therapist, Rylai, Researcher Samson ensured me you'd show up following his last talk with you.

SCP-XXXX-A: That asshole? He's ruining me.

Therapist Rylai: I'm not Samson, I can assure you, I'm here to talk about you.

SCP-XXXX-A: Me? I don't matter…

Therapist Rylai: Percy, I can reassure you, that you do matter. You serve a purpose here, and I'm here to help you.

SCP-XXXX-A: A purpose? A goddamn purpose? I had one. That man probably was the one who took him away. Can you turn off the recorder? I don't feel comfortable with it.
<End Log, 02:31 PM>

Following Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-4-1, SCP-XXXX-A and Therapist Rylai have built a relationship. In the following week a significant breakthrough was made after frequent visits and appointments were made by staff for SCP-XXXX-A.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-4-2 - December 12th 2020

SCP-XXXX-A immediately greets Therapist Rylai.

SCP-XXXX-A: Hey.

Therapist Rylai: Hello Percy.

Therapist Rylai: I hope you are fine with me recording tell me, if at any time, you get comfortable. This is a progress log.

SCP-XXXX-A: Yeah, sure, I know you got some questions.

Therapist Rylai: That is correct. You know the procedure, please tell me if you get uncomfortable. My first question is: how are you feeling with your new home?

SCP-XXXX-A: I hate it!

Therapist Rylai: Can you please elaborate?

SCP-XXXX-A immediately loses composure.

SCP-XXXX-A: I feel sick being here! They locked me up and separated me from my dog, randomly decide to question me, and don't realize it'd be easier to just put me with him!

SCP-XXXX-A: I don't feel human, it's like they are scared of me like I'm some monster!

//SCP-XXXX-A slinks back into his chair and stops talking for three minutes in which Therapist Rylai breaks the silence.

Therapist Rylai: I have one more question I have to ask. It's about me, Percy.

SCP-XXXX-A: Shoot…

Therapist Rylai: Do you feel like your time with me is pointless?

SCP-XXXX-A: No. You are what feels closest to being a friend, even if I know you are being paid to deal with me. You help me.

Therapist Rylai: Alright, thank you Percy. That will be all.
<End Log, 02:37 PM>

The following day, Therapist Rylai managed to make a discovery regarding SCP-XXXX-A's past.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-4-3 - December 13th 2020

Therapist Rylai: Percy, do you mind if I ask some questions on record?

SCP-XXXX-A: No, I don't mind.

Therapist Rylai: Let me make this clear beforehand, if I'm triggering something, anything, please let me know, I'm only interested in your best interests. Researcher Samson asked these before and I'd also like to know, if they do trigger you, I will stop immediately.
SCP-XXXX-A: Alright.

Therapist Rylai: If you don't mind me asking, why don't you like the cold?

SCP-XXXX-A: Just don't, I associate it too much with the orphanage, they could never afford a heater, pieces of me always never managed to fit under the blanket and would freeze in the winter. Almost got frostbite once, it was painful…

Therapist Rylai: Your dog, Horris, can you tell me where you met him?

SCP-XXXX-A: In ████, my homeless shelter, where I was ripped from. I was low-income, and had no friends. He kind of just showed up. Sounds insane, but I swear he's my miracle…

Therapist Rylai: You said he meant everything to you, do you care to elaborate?

SCP-XXXX-A: I said it, I meant it. He's worth more than me and my life, he, in-fact saved my life. I was in the process of making a last-will. I had no-one to give it to, so I was honestly just gonna give it all to ████ █████, my neighbor, I planned to take my life that day. So I had everything prepared, y'know? It's sad, I was so scared. I decided to go drink some soda, I opened the shelter's fridge and he was there!

Therapist Rylai: Any clue why he'd be there?

SCP-XXXX-A: Your guess is just as good as mine. He showed up, and gave me something no-one or nothing could give me.

Therapist Rylai: Which would be?

SCP-XXXX-A perked up following the question.

SCP-XXXX-A: Happiness, a purpose, something to live for. He makes me complete. He honestly feels like my guardian angel, and I'm lucky to have him.

Therapist Rylai: I have one last question, I need to know about your childhood, where did you grow up, and how did you meet Horris?

SCP-XXXX-A: This… Honestly is a real harsh subject on me. I don't really like talking about it…

Therapist Rylai: Percy, you don't have to answer.

SCP-XXXX-A: Hold up give me a moment.

SCP-XXXX-A visibly pauses for a moment, tears start to roll down his face.

SCP-XXXX-A: My parents died when I was around 5 from a car crash, it took a heavy toll on me, so I was shoved forcefully into an orphanage with all the other bastard kids. I was inherently shy, so no one ever wanted me, the kids I made friends with I lost due to adoption… I remember how old I was then, 16, that's when the depression hit…

Upon saying that line SCP-XXXX-A visibly looked hurt.

SCP-XXXX-A: I was a useless kid shoved in orphanage against my will, my other family didn't care and let them take me, that hurt me more! By the time I was an adult I was shoved out of the orphanage with no life skills and multiple mental strains and massive stress really took its toll on me. I got a job at ████ working for minimum wage stocking shelves, and later found a low income apartment…

SCP-XXXX-A visibly deteriorates and starts sobbing.

SCP-XXXX-A: T-then it got worse… A few weeks later my apartment burnt down I lost everything! That's where I found my heat resistance… I was put in a homeless shelter I couldn't afford anything, I was writing my last will, everything was gonna go to the people who got me a bed in that shelter…

SCP-XXXX-A perks up, and then begins to smile.

SCP-XXXX-A: But then I went to go check the fridge and that's where I found him. He was sitting there, with a smile on his face, in that moment I felt happy, y'know? There's no feeling like loving an animal. I didn't find him he found me. That dog saved me, and I am here living because him and for him!

Therapist Rylai is shown to smile.

Therapist Rylai: Listen Percy, I'm sorry for what they are doing to you. I'll see what I can do for you, I'll make a request to the ethics committee to have you accommodated with access to your dog. Them taking him away seems pointless and damaging. I see no reason as to why they'd decline this request.
<End Log, 03:47 PM>

Therapist Rylai made a request to the ethics committee to review accommodations for SCP-XXXX-A which was subsequently denied.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-4-3 - December 15th 2020

As SCP-XXXX-A is brought into the room he is hysterically crying.

Researcher Samson: Hello SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A remains unresponsive.

Researcher Samson: Like previously stated, if cooperation is maintained, SCP-XXXX-B may be allowed to have contact with you.

SCP-XXXX-A: Who cares?! What's the point in living. You maniacs have me locked in a cell and refuse to even give me comfort when you ripped me from my apartment. You all are monsters. You'd just give me him to take him from me the next time I don't talk!

SCP-XXXX-A begins to tear at his arm, using his nails to cause lacerations across his skin, then promptly stops.

SCP-XXXX-A: I just want my dog…

A crash is heard and then the log ends.

<End Log, 7:57 AM>

After Log SCP-XXXX-A-3, a door to a cell was found collapsed that was holding SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-B clearly ran straight to the room holding SCP-XXXX-A. Following this log, SCP-XXXX-B is to be reinstated into a room connected to the room SCP-XXXX-A is held in, a door is to be unlocked. SCP-XXXX-A was witnessed laughing and petting SCP-XXXX-B.

Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-5 - December 16 2020

Researcher Samson: Hello SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A: Hey…

Researcher Samson: Of course, as procedures go, we have some questions.

SCP-XXXX-A: Yeah, go ahead - lay it on me…

Researcher Samson notes more of a morose tone in SCP-XXXX-A following the incident in Interview Log SCP-XXXX-A-3.

Researcher Samson: Do you know how SCP-XXXX-B managed to breach an iron-lined door?

SCP-XXXX-A: He felt my pain. He's good at that.

Researcher Samson: Can you explain the pain?

SCP-XXXX-A then appears to pause to think.

SCP-XXXX-A: A total lack of purpose, your entire existence is torture, and the one good thing you had was ripped from your hands by some dick-bags in white. Tell me Samson, did you enjoy that? Did you enjoy watching me suffer? Just leave us alone, it's the least you could do!

SCP-XXXX-A then appears to readjust his approach.

SCP-XXXX-A: I'm sorry that was out of line, you couldn't have known…

Researcher Samson: Well, SCP-XXXX-A, that should be enough.

<End Log, 09:45 AM>

Addendum SCP-XXXX-1-█: Under future pretenses, if cooperation is held, SCP-XXXX-A may be let outside under security with SCP-XXXX-B, but currently all trips outside are declined. Testing with SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-4771 is a question, but currently no efforts to see the effect have been made as SCP-XXXX-B has yet to have died.
