Appearance of SCP-3461

Item #: SCP-3461

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3461 is to be placed in a locked room and wrapped in opaque material. SCP-3461 is to be kept under constant real-time video surveillance whenever the opaque cloth is removed for any purpose (maintenance, analysis, experimentation, etc.) and must attain Level 1 certification to unlock the room.

Persons who have been in direct contact with SCP-3461 for more than 5 (five) minutes must immediately be removed and undergo psychotherapy until the symptoms of hallucinations have completely subsided and are not allowed to serve until they pass the physical and mental tests and recalibration training.

Description: SCP-3461 is a full-body mirror about 2 (two) meters high and 4 (four) meters wide. It is mounted on a gray, white concrete wall about half a meter thick. There are three dents on the wall that are believed to have suffered heavy blows. Based on previous experiments and the results obtained, Foundation scientists identified SCP-3461 as a medium-threatening psychological threat and it is an individual with self-consciousness.

SCP-3461 is known to "capture" the movements of all living beings. Once inside the subject's reflection range, the subject's image will be captured by SCP-3461 within 1 (one) to 5 (five) minutes. Subjects with captured images will be able to communicate with SCP-3461 and experience varying levels of hallucinations. Specific effects vary from person to person.

The first reaction, the auditory objects were heard in all the captured test subjects, and all of them said that they could clearly hear the playful sound of the children passing from behind the mirror. Some of the test subjects apparently became dull to outside sounds after the appearance of auditory hallucinations.

The second reaction, the captured test subjects may see hallucinations and feel an unusual sense of reality. Some objects will begin to feel a change in touch or ambient temperature. As the contact time increases, some objects start to crash and scream, because in order to “evade ███” and try to escape from the room, the body even appears in clawed, hand-covered scars in situations without self-harm.

The third reaction, a small number of subjects will hear intermittent speeches. According to the object's feedback, the voice exists in the same space and able to answer the subject's question briefly, thus learning that SCP-3461 is a self-conscious individual.
Up to now, 5 D-class personnel have interacted with SCP-3461. From previous data, SCP-3461 was initially suspected of SCP-3461's ability to gain insight into target fears in addition to its self-awareness.

SCP-3461 was discovered in a deserted dance school in ██████████, which had been blocked locally since 19██ and caught the attention of the Foundation after the [DATA EXPUNGED] incident.
