Item #: SCP-••••
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-•••• is to be locked in the middle of an air-tight 4m x 4m x 3m chamber, with special-made platform to make sure it doesn't fall off. The cell should be checked every three (3) months for damage using the appropriate gear.
Description: SCP-•••• looks like an old late 19th century diving helmet, that emits unknown gas making people want to put it on. When done so it starts producing unknown substance that makes the victim's head start melting away, usually killing the subject in 15-30 minutes, while at the same time stopping emitting the victim-attracting gas. Any attempts to take the helmet off during this period has been unsuccessful. Due to the excessive pain this causes all testing on SCP-•••• that involves wearing the helmet has halted.
Anyone wanting to put the SCP-•••• on should be immediately placed in a cell waiting for an mental examination. Once a person has passed the test they should be let free, as every victim to the gas has been open about wanting to wear it. However in a case of the same person wanting to put it on within 5 hours he or she should be held captive for at least 10 hours before having a mental examination again. It should be noted that the effect of the attracting gas can last from 20 minutes to 5 hours after leaving it's vicinity.
Addendum: The gas it emits has been recorded to move at changing speeds, however it has always moved extremely slowly so far. The time it has taken it to create a gap in the contaiment cell's room suggests that the effectiveness of the gas slows as SCP-•••• becomes older, however it has not been properly proven yet.
