Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a concrete chamber of 4m x 4m x 4m. The chamber must be equipped with a drainage system that should undergo regular maintenance at least twice a month.
Any and all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be confiscated and kept nearby. Becuase SCP-XXXX-2 does not demonstrate any anomalous properties when not being used by SCP-XXXX, no excessive containment procedures are required.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of reptilian organisms averaging around 3.5 to 4 meters in length, that, after thorough genetic testing, don't appear to be closely related to any other life on Earth. Most specimens have crocodilian tails(Though some have minor differences, such as a fin at the end), webbed claws, and two fins on either side of their heads, just in front of their gills. They come in a wide variety of colors, ranging from blues and purples to deep red and bright orange.
Most are fine with a diet of fish or other aquatic life, such as mollusks, thought there have been some instances that have refused to eat anything at all(See Log: SCP-XXXX - Garnet)
There has also been several attempts at breeding SCP-XXXX, to very little success. They are clearly capable of reproducing, as two of the breeding attempts did end up with eggs. These eggs are similar in appearance to most fish eggs, but many times larger and laid in groups of six to eight. However, after just a few hours, every egg's outer surface would rupture, and none have survived to hatching.
SCP-XXXX-2 are small rowboats, each unique to an instance of SCP-XXXX. They are composed of many very different materials. Though the majority of instances are composed of different types of wood, there has been one instance made of stainless steel, and several composed of unknown material. Some instances of SCP-XXXX also posses one or two lanterns of varying colors, though this isn't very common.
SCP-XXXX-2 Instances have been determined to have no anomalous traits of their own. When operated by its respective owner, SCP-XXXX-2 can be used by SCP-XXXX to seemingly traverse worlds. SCP-XXXX can also do this on its own, when fully submerged in water, but SCP-XXXX-2 is required to bring passengers with it. Based on the observed behaviour of SCP-XXXX before entering Foundation custody, they seem to appear in the vicinity of nautical disasters, such as sinking ships or oil rig explosions. SCP-XXXX will approach, and take several people on board, generally groups of one to five, who enter SCP-XXXX-2 in a trance state, seemingly unaware of the situation. They will then depart, and disappear.
All instances of SCP-XXXX show signs of high intelligence. Most seem able to comprehend human speech, though the languages they can understand vary wildly. There are also several individuals who appear either unable to understand, or are simply unwilling to respond to attempts to communicate with them. Most instances are generally docile, but there has been a noteworthy incident where one individual became very aggressive towards Dr. [REDACTED], upon seeing him, becoming calm once again after he was out of its viscinity.
