Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be monitored at all times of day for any change in position by no less than 3 personel. Personnel at to inform others if they wish to blink as to avoid breaking constant observation. Breaking of constant observation in the past has resulted in what is technically classifiable as a containment breach, however as SCP-XXXX always returns to roughly the same spot moments after not being observed so no additional security measures past constant observation are required.
Addendum:
Prior to the discovery that SCP-XXXX is able to move short distances when unobserved, SCP-XXXXwas left within a sealed box in the Safe storage wing of site [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX storage procedures have been updated to reflect this fact.
Addendum:
SCP-XXXX Classification has been changed from Safe to Euclid due to discovery of multiple instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
Description: [Paragraphs explaining the description]
SCP-XXXX is a wooden artist's paint palette modeled after the one seen on the TV show "The Joy of Painting" hosted by Bob Ross. The palette contains upon its surface several base colour paints including the following: Red, Blue, Yellow, White and Black. Each of the paints when used or withdrawn from the palette will replenish itself after it is no longer observed. The paints appear to not contain any anomalous properties when used to produce art of any form such including the blending of colours to produce a new colour, ie. red + yellow = orange. See addendum below.
Addendum:
SCP-XXXX when tested, displays no signs of life or animation however periodically when not observed for a brief moment, SCP-XXXX may suddenly rotate or move a few degrees/cm. It is currently believed that during every instance of movement, SCP-XXXX is being used by anomalous artist [REDACTED] to produce a painting. When this happens a new instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will appear.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are not discovered "in the wild" like other SCP's, rather all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 that are known to exist have all been delivered to the O-5 council by express shipping provided by service [REDACTED]. Attempts to trace the origins of these shipments have so far been unsuccessful. Upon arrival, all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will be packaged within a plain wooden shipping crate with a attached shipping manifest. The manifest is always laid out in the following manner:
| Sender | [REDACTED] |
| Somewhere | |
| Recipient | O-5 Council |
| O-5 Command, The Foundation |
Each instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is a distinct anomaly that exists as a painting upon an arbitrarily sized canvas. Each piece of art appears as a depiction of either a existing SCP that either is or isn't contained by the foundation or as a piece of scenery such as a lake, forrest, or mountain. Each painting is signed by the artist [REDACTED] whom is assumed to be associated with the group "Are We Cool Yet". Attempts by The Foundation to locate the artist has so far been unsuccessful as it is unknown as to where SCP-XXXX travels to during its movements.
Each instance of SCP-XXXX-1 hold special properties dependant upon what it depicts.
Locations
If a given instance depicts a location, the painting will not have a solid surface when touched. The painted surface will give way as if it were a direct gateway to the location depicted. All of the environment, both biological and non-biological in the depicted location will all be made of appropriate materials with the exception that they will all appear as if it was painted. The locations themselves are safe to interact with in most cases, however any local organisms may not be (See SCP-XXXX-1-b for reference).
SCP Object
If a given instance depicts a SPC, the painting will take on certain properties of the SCP itself. Each of the displayed properties appears to be entirely safe (See SCP-XXXX-1-c for reference) as the painted SCP Object within the painting appears to be contained in what can only be described as a world within the canvas. To date not 1 instance of SCP-XXXX-1 that depicts an object has had its depicted object be able to leave the painting it is contained within, with evidence to suggest that there is some form of barrier created by the canvas that allows observation and interaction but not escape.
Person
If a given instance depicts a person, the painting will present a snapshot of the depicted persons life shortly before their death. If this event has passed, the official records will reflect that the way that the given person died is as presented. If the person is alive however, reality will chance to ensure that the depicted death happens, no matter what the depiction is of (See SCP-XXXX-1-g for reference).
SCP-XXXX-1-a
SCP-XXXX-1-a depicts a carnival at noon on a sunny day with a few clouds in the sky. This destination is considered safe to visit and the depicted attractions are allowed to be enjoyed by all researchers during their break. SCP-XXXX-1-a has been relocated to the break room of site [REDACTED] for the enjoyment of the researchers.
SCP-XXXX-1-b
SCP-XXXX-1-b depicts a lagon under a twilight sky with many hostile, yellow animal eyes in the surrounding shrubbery. Upon entry by a D Class personnel to inspect the painting further, the D Class was set upon by the local fauna and has since deceased from their wounds.
SCP-XXXX-1-c
SCP-XXXX-1-c depicts a instance of SCP-173 "The Sculpture". It has the same anomalous, whilst lessened properties pertaining to observation regarding the sculpture however it does not produce any substances like the real SCP-173. When directly observed, the instance of SCP-173 depicted will freeze in place, but observation through camera does not have the same effect. The depicted SCP-173 instance is perfectly capable of wandering around in the depicted cell and has on numerous occasions been seen on camera attempting to attack a researcher whilst their back was turned only to be thwarted by the surface of the painted canvas. No audible sounds can be heard from the other side of the painted surface.
SCP-XXXX-1-d
SCP-XXXX-1-e
SCP-XXXX-1-f
SCP-XXXX-1-g
SCP-XXXX-1-g depicts a man, 5.7" tall wearing a orange jump suit walking into a painting and being attacked by black shapes with yellow eyes. This event is recorded as having happened shortly after the arrival of SCP-XXXX-1-b though the event is not remembered by any researcher that was experimenting upon the painting.
