WARNING: THE FOLLOWING FILE IS LEVEL #4/5181 CLASSIFIED
ANY ATTEMPT TO ACCESS THIS FILE WITHOUT LEVEL 4/5181 AUTHORIZATION WILL BE LOGGED AND WILL LEAD TO IMMEDIATE DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
Special Containment Procedures:
Vital fluids and saliva specimens of SCP-5181 are confined at Bio-Site-23 in minimal glass test tubes that are stored away within a titanium steel vault. The virus itself is contained for a furtherance in study at Research Site-23.
Update: In addition to security protocol, doors are to be triple-locked with the exception of allowing Level 4 authorized personnel in or out. No fewer than two (2) armed guards are to be around the premises. The safe itself is to be secured manually with a fingerprinted scanner and must be unlocked with a USB data-key flash drive in succession.
Personnel with Level 4 clearance wishing to experiment with the pathogen are required to seek direct approval from members of the Ethics Committee and the O5-Council. Illicit testing of 5161 without authorization will see personnel demoted/stripped of their security clearance and/or omitted from the program. Unauthorized personnel attempting to violate this regulation well then be restrained and removed by force; with any resistance resulting in an immediate termination.
Monthly testing of SCP-5181 are held in semi-artificial enclosures, usually within forested areas that are restricted from the general public and owned by the Foundation.
D-personnel are to be nude for the procedure of thorough analysis when testing SCP-5181 in order for the 5181-1 individuals to feel at ease in the “back-to-nature” lifestyle as the transfiguration progressed. Once symptoms in changes of behavior and diet begin to show, the subjects are shuttled to the artificial habitats in order for Research personnel to survey the effects and differentiation in behavior of each of the individuals infected.
Natural responses of living in a natural habitat have been deemed comfortable for most of the individuals that are now labeled 5181-1.
5161 pathogen magnified 250,000 times.
Description: Documented as a rare strain of viral disease similar to Lyssavirus and an undocumented Parvovirus that has transmuted into an unregulated form of a biochemical malady that can be transferred through a host with bodily fluids. Thorough research about its origins it’s still ongoing, but it can be discerned that the virus is a mutated genetic.
SCP-5181 was conceived after the Foundation’s capture of several SCP-5181 individuals (called typically by both young researchers and D-personnel: “Werewolves” or “Lycanthropes”); many of which had taken their own lives by severing major carotid arteries upon arrival to avoid containment. (See Addendum 5181-1 Exsanguination Retrieval below)
SCP-5181 comprises of three (3) component instances: SCP-5181-1A, SCP-5181-1 and SCP-5181-2:
5181-1A are individuals naturally born with the virus, superior capabilities and attributes, such as psychosis, telepathy, and conscious control over other individuals with the virus
5181-1 are individuals who aren’t born naturally infected with the virus; and thereafter in approximately one week; transforms into a humanoid entity that appears as a biped canine of the canidae family Canis lupus lupus. These entities’ height and fur color vary depending on the original height, natural hair and eye color of its host prior to transfigurations of the 5181 pathogen. The metamorphosis into 5181-1 can also be variegated as some individuals depending on health or those that were born with the pathogen can enhance the speed of metamorphosis at 1500 hours.

Interviewed: D-Class 1448
Interviewer: Research Doctor Codell MacCollum
Foreword: After the clash with 953, subject 1448 has remained inactive with social contact. Against protocol, young Researcher MacCollum finds answers.
<Begin Log, August 14 approx. 9PM>
Dr. Codell MacCollum: Afternoon D-1448.D-1448: [silent]
Dr. Codell MacCollum: You know we can revoke privileges. Yes?
D-1448: [speaking in Scots Gaelic] And I know you’ll end up in here with me if they found you, yes? (subject leans forward menacingly in his seat)
Dr. Codell MacCollum: I wouldn’t do that
Dr. Codell MacCollum: I’d like to speak about 953.
D-1448: That bitch? What about her?
<End Log, [optional time info>
Closing Statement: Despite being discovered going against protocol from Site-Director Leeds, wherein he was apprehended and, interrogated, MacCollum was released with no further consequence as his actions alone managed to earn valuable intel from the subject.
