Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Due to its immobile nature, SCP-XXXX cannot be contained traditionally. SCP-XXXX is to be guarded by at least one motorized rifle squad1 at all times, with another squad protecting the assigned Foundation scientific research team. The control room, irrespective of whether it is in operation or not, is to be guarded by four armed personnel, whether they be volunteers from the Russian Special Operational Forces or official Mobile Taskforce personnel.

There are four internal security cameras located throughout the room that comprises SCP-XXXX, and another two located in the control room. During the six-hour shift, there are to be 2-4 researchers in the room at all times.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an echo chamber located in a room on the fifth floor of an abandoned Soviet military R&D installation in Ussuriysk, Russia that used to be operated by former Foundation group of interest GRU Divison ''P'' prior to its descent into irrelevancy. Despite housing SCP-XXXX, the rest of the building possesses no strange or anomalous properties. Next to the main chamber is a small control room with various control consoles that are irregular for the era in which the room was constructed2. Located within the walls of SCP-XXXX are several acoustic devices wirelessly connected to the consoles in the room that have been labeled under the name of SCP-XXXX-1 by the Foundation.

The SCP-XXXX-1 devices are interrogation devices constructed by GRU Division ''P'' through means that have yet to be discovered by the Foundation. The devices work by emitting a beam of sound at an occupant of the room. The frequency at which the devices operate at can be altered, ranging from a low-frequency sound capable of irritating the mind of a subject to sound waves capable of rupturing organs. Targets are chosen by the operator, who is aided by a device capable of detecting the electrochemical signals in the brain. Using the results, the operators decide whether or whether not the subject is lying or not, and are given the option to attack the subject.

After its discovery in █/█/200█, Foundation personnel have attempted to reverse engineer the technology found in SCP-XXX-1 in order to create handheld acoustic weapons to be used by the more elite Mobile Taskforce divisions. Research into finding a way to make the devices portable is ongoing.

Addendum: Retrieval log, █/█/200█:

Addendum no. 2: After SCP-3183 was discovered, the Foundation began using SCP-3183 as an interrogation device. Throughout its service in the SCP Foundation, it has been used on many subjects, ranging from D-Class to Foundation people of interest. Prior to this, Foundation personnel ran a series of tests to see if the device could operate when being used by someone who didn't subscribe to the Marxist-Leninist ideology that the Soviet Union followed. These test have been stopped, but they were proved to be a success. For a log containing the records of the test, please read the transcript bellow. A clearance of level 3 or higher is required.

Although the Ethics Committee has objected to the continued use of the device, it is likely to remain in use for the foreseeable future.
