Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a storage locker at site-█. Access is restricted to level 3 Personnel and above. SCP-XXXX is to covered with a leather cloth at all times. Removal of this cloth is only permitted during testing on a D-Class subject. During testing D-Class subjects are to escorted by no less than 5 armed guards in the presence or SCP-XXXX. In the case that a D-Class personnel receives a weapon of any kind, they must be terminated immediately.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a shaving mirror affixed to 2 drawers beneath. It does not appear to show signs of age though it is believed to have been created in the 18th century. SCP-XXXX has 2 anomalous properties. The first is that the mirror and the box it is affixed to cannot be destroyed by any means. Study into it's apparent invulnerability is underway.
The mirror's secondary anomalous properties manifest when a human looks into the mirror for 10 seconds, after which a sound described as knocking on glass can be heard coming from the object. At which point the word: "CHOOSE", will appear in the direct center of the mirror. The subject must then choose between the two drawers. The drawer on the right side contains an item the subject wants, the drawer on the left contains an item the subject needs.
The drawer that has not been chosen by the subject will be locked and impossible to open by any means. This makes it impossible to direct the subject to choose either drawer. Attempts to open a drawer chosen by another person has failed. Attempts to retrieve an item in a drawer already opened has resulted in the drawer closing.

Addendum: [Testing Logs]

Test 1: (Subject D-8647, subject is a D-class previously put on death row for murder. Subject is instructed to open the left drawer.)
Result: Left drawer will not open, subject is instructed to try the other drawer. Subject opens the right drawer, a small piece of paper with the words: "I FORGIVE YOU - ███", is produced. Subject begins crying. Subject is returned to his cell.

Test 2: (D-9339 and D-9345 are brought in. one is instructed to look in the mirror for 10 seconds and then open a drawer, the second is instructed to take the resulting item out.)
Result: D-9339 opens the left drawer, a magic-8-ball can be seen inside. D-9345 reaches inside. The drawer forcefully closes amputating D-9345's hand. Rather than be bleeding all testing appears to show that D-9339's hand has been gone since birth. D-9339 claims to have felt no pain. Both subjects are returned to their cells.

Test 3: (Subject D-10988, subject is told beforehand that he will be allowed to leave if he opens the left drawer.)
Result: Subject desperately tries to open the left drawer for approximately 52 hours. Subject collapses of exhaustion. It appears that the drawer is aware of your subconscious wants rather than your conscious wants. Subject is reassigned back to SCP-173 cleaning duty.
