SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is not inherently dangerous and thus does not require any particularly strict containment space. However, a 2 meter x 2 meter x 2 meter space that is reasonably lit with a few toys such as a running wheel is recommendable. The container should have walls of clear glass so as to give the illusion of a less restrictive environment to the SCP, which would keep it further inclined to remain simple to care for. SCP-XXXX has a very low risk of escaping, especially if the aforementioned recommendations are met. Although it is not required, SCP-XXXX should be watched, although constant monitoring is not necessary.

Description

SCP-XXXX is a small creature resembling a Hamster. Physically, it appears to be a regular hamster, however it has demonstrated its mental and cognitive capabilities and has shown that it has a very high intelligence as compared to the average Hamster. It has a strengthened bone structure with more joints and vertebrae, allowing it to possess significantly more refined motor skills. SCP-XXXX is capable of changing the color of its fur and skin to better "blend" with its surrounding environment, an ability that no known species of Hamster has shown capabilities of doing.

Setting of Anomalous Actions:

SCP-XXXX was reported by a Houston family to local authorities. The family reported that many items of varying importance had been moving between various places every night. This phenomenon began four days before the report when young child Averie Stunter discovered that her toothbrush had gone missing. Eventually, it was found in the oven. Over this period, all members of the household would experience similarly peculiar events that involved the loss of a personal item, and the eventual rediscovery at a later point in an unrelated or unusual area. Dallas authorities investigated the house, suspecting home invasion to be a possibility, however their investigation would end with little success. It would take another two days before the Stunter family would discover the culprit of these acts. SCP-XXXX was quickly contained and transferred to the Foundation.
