Item #: SCP-xxxx
Object class: Safe
Special containment procedures: Provisional site-114 is to be continually monitoring SCP-xxxx. SCP-xxxx is to be publicly labeled an art project by an anonymous artist.
All persons are allowed to enter SCP-xxxx. Operation of radio equipment in the vicinity of the anomaly is to be prohibited.
Once SCP-xxxx-1 reaches a stable temperature, further investigation is to be carried out on the anomaly.
Description: SCP-xxxx is a large collection, akin to a forest, of structures reminiscent of spikes with various protrusions. These structures are constructed from a composite of iron, copper and lead and are all in various stages of corrosion. The origin of these structures is unknown, however have been thought to have been constructed by a non-human intelligence.
There exists an entity (Labeled SCP-xxxx-1) approximately 200 meters below SCP-xxxx, whose precise shape and nature is unknown due to having a temperature of approximately 5,000 degress Celsius. However, the temperature of SCP-xxxx-1 has been steadily declining, losing about 3 degrees Celsius each year.
SCP-xxxx-1 regularly emits a low frequency radio signal, which consists of a droning noise intermittently interrupted by a noise akin to distorted human speech. The meaning of these signals is currently unknown.
On rare occasions, signals originating from SCP-xxxx-1 will be interrupted by long lasting radio signals containing loud distorted noise. When played through a spectogram, the noise reveals messages written in what is believed to be dozens of different text based languages, 14 of which are human readable.
The message reads "DO NOT LISTEN" in the English translation, however some translations have noticeable grammatical errors. The origin of this message is unknown, and all attempts to track its origin have failed. It is believed to originate from a separate entity to SCP-xxxx-1, perhaps as a warning for the anomaly. However, due to the prevalence of grammatical issues, as well as with some translations containing contradictory or unrelated messages, there is a lot of uncertainty about the intended interpretation.
SCP-xxxx was first discovered in June of 1831. Later dating tests have shown SCP-xxxx to be about 19,000-20,500 years old. SCP-xxxx-1 was discovered in May 1942, during an investigation of the structure.
