The following document was produced by SCP-XXXX during a Class-A incident.
This is Doctor to hell with that stuff. This is Jacob Russel. I have no idea how far back this message will go. I am writing from a dead world. I don't know how much of this could have been prevented. I don't know if it's even worth trying. The foundation is barely hanging on now. We're more focused on disaster mitigation than prevention. Over ninety percent of the database is missing or destroyed. In a few weeks I'm sending back the containment procedures. They will work, I assure you. You will know when to use them, I hope. But you need to start building the site now. We were too late. And the world paid for it. Now we all die in the dark.
The following document is transcribed from an SD card produced by SCP-XXXX during a Class-A incident.
Video feed begins. Camera is pointed down a dim, hallway like structure similar to a subway tunnel. The number 212 is painted on a rusted metal wall. A voice, presumably that of "Jacob Russel" speaks, echoing in the large room.
Hey! Come on!
The camera turns back to the other side of the tunnel. A female Balaniceps Rex, presumably SCP-XXXX, is leashed to the camera's holder. SCP-XXXX steps down the tunnel. The camera's holder extends a hand toward SCP-XXXX and strokes its beak.
You are gonna save the world, my friend. You just need to walk yourself down the hall with me, okay?
The feed moves down the hall for several minutes before coming to a set of large steel blast doors. The camera holder swipes a foundation ID card of clearance level four in front of a keypad and the doors begin to open. The metal chamber inside is large and cylindrical, descending an unknown distance into the earth. A guardrail separates a thin walkway and the pit in the center.
After walking along the walkway to the left, the camera holder comes to a reinforced bunker and once again uses a keypad to gain access. The inside of the bunker is relatively undamaged compared to the rusted and charred exterior. A thin layer of ash covers the window on the front of the bunker that faces into the pit. The camera holder appears to pull a ceiling mounted lever, activating the fluorescent light within the bunker and powering up the many screens on the walls. The camera holder sets the camera down as faint shuffling can be heard. After several minutes, the camera holder turns the camera toward himself. He has been badly burned in some areas of his face, and a singed beard is visible on his chin. He is wearing a foundation lab uniform with a level four clearance badge around his neck. He speaks.
I don't know if I'll exist for you yet when you get this message. But I am real, we all are. This isn't some reality bending, parallel universe shit. This is the future. The one and only. If the records are correct, as long as this message goes back further than ten years, the foundation should still have the bird. Along with this message, you'll receive blueprints and containment procedures for a world- no. Not world ending. World reshaping. A world reshaping anomaly.
SCP-XXXX moves below the camera as the subject feeds it several files. Video feed ends.
Among the documents recovered is a passage detailing the containment of an unknown anomaly.
Special Containment Procedures:
Site 212 is stationed at a depth of 200m below sea level. SCP-14821's containment chamber is to be flooded with seawater at all times, circulated to prevent water heating to the point of vaporization. If ever the water in SCP-14821's containment chamber rises above one hundred (100) degrees Celsius, failsafe 240-King is to be enacted. [The following is written in the margin of the document.] (The containment chamber is to be forced downward via high-power propellers to a depth of up to one (1) Kilometer, and monitored via camera drones until SCP-14821 is determined to be unconscious due to g-force or water pressure. Once SCP-14821 re-ignites, it is assumed to be conscious and containment resumes as normal) In the event of a containment breach, the public is to be immediately given a solar flare warning and instructed to prepare for heatwaves and stay indoors. If SCP-14821 breaks the surface of the ocean, the public is to be notified of an asteroid threat and told to prepare as such. If SCP-14821 reaches a major land mass, its existence is to be revealed to the public and the foundation is authorized to attempt termination if SCP-14821 is not recontained within three hours of reaching land.
The following document was transcribed from another video log produced during a Class-A incident on January 18th, 2001.
Video feed begins. The camera is placed on a wooden desk facing a concrete wall. Unintelligible voices speak in the background. Jacob Russel appears in front of the wall, holding several documents. He appears unwell, possibly diseased or injured. He speaks.
"It's become clear to me that containment procedures may not be enough to go on here. If you want to contain this thing, you might have to try some new stuff. SCP-14821 would be located somewhere under the pacific ocean, about 10,000 meters down. In our time, it was only discovered once the ocean started to warm. Reactionary containment doesn't work here. There is no way to contain this thing without preemptive knowledge. Search for it using temperature and sonar. It will stick out of the bottom of the ocean. Remove it and put it into the containment chamber. If you take it anywhere near the surface, seal it in liquid nitrogen. Once it's in the chamber, you should be good. I have a few images here, so you know what to look for.
The first image is a submerged statue, presumably SCP-14821. It is posed as if it is gripping its midsection in pain. A feathered wing grows from its right shoulder. Its body appears vaguely human, but is mostly covered in either sediment or some form of plant matter.
The second image appears to have been taken from a foundation DEProbe aquatic drone. SCP-14821 is uncovered and shown to bear a face that resembles a heavily damaged humanoid with curved tusks similar to those of a boar. Its expression suggests extreme pain or anxiety. In the image, SCP-14821 appears to be glowing, though this may be reflection from the DEProbe's headlamp.
The third image is blurry and difficult to discern. Jacob Russel states that it is footage from SCP-14821's containment breach, before the failsafe measures were constructed. It shows a bright column of fire emerging from the ocean.
Jacob Russel speaks again.
"I couldn't acquire an object description. Most of the files on the computers are corrupted, and most physical copies of 14821 documentation were destroyed." Russel sorts through a note sheet. "What I can tell you is that it's a statue, at least in its inert form. Once it activates, it will begin to heat and eventually catch fire. When this happens, it will grow in mass as the fire around it starts to become a part of its physical form. That's all I could gather. Foundation resources are limited right now. Hell, we're in the basement of Quilin Anomalous Research and Registry, limited is a massive understatement. They're at least friendly enough to let foundation personnel, but I'm not sure I like these guys. I know we worked with 'em in your time but… they just give me the creeps. Anyway, this might be the last card I send back for a while. Unless something big happens. Bye."
The following document was transcribed from another video log produced during a Class-A incident on April 9th, 2002.
Video feed shows the exterior of Quilin Anomalous Research and Registry. The building is similar to how it appears in the present day. The garden that surrounds it, however, is missing in the video, instead occupied by a thick layer of ash that also blankets the top of the building. The camera pans away from the building to a view of a large crater. The camera zooms. In the center of the crater, SCP-14821 lays inert. The camera holder, yells into the building. Several Foundation and QUARR members exit the building, appearing to panic. Staff members continue to exit the building and soon, an alarm is sounded. The camera pans back to the crater, where SCP-14821 begins to visibly glow, and a hissing sound can be heard. Video feed ends.
To date, no further items have been produced by SCP-XXXX.
Under order of 05-4, the construction of site 212 has begun. However, due to lack of items or documents produced by SCP-XXXX, it has been halted until further notice.
