Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a secure, soundproof locker at all times. When needed to test, one authorized level 3 security officer, who either a) does not know morse code or b) whose mental state is in good or perfect condition must take SCP-XXXX into a soundproof room with the subject to communicate with it already placed in the room prior. If a subject is being used for testing, subject must know morse code proficiently.
SCP-XXXX cannot move freely nor can it cause any real harm without another organism, thus SCP-XXXX is no immediate threat, and in the event of a breach, should be low priority.
It is recommended not to take more than one log biweekly of SCP-XXXX as long exposure to SCP-XXXX's "speech" may impair faculty members.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an unmarked telegraph, seemingly of the World War 1 era. It sends random strings of numbers and words via morse code. These have been recorded and researched but as of █/█/████ there is still no definitive meaning behind the string of words and numbers. SCP-XXXX when in contact with humans any living organism any sentient object/organism [see Incident-XXXX-1A] for over exactly 45 minutes (or 5 minutes if the person in question knows more code), will be effected in one of two ways. The exposed subject will either 1) fall under mind control by SCP-XXXX or 2) be taken out by any means by SCP-XXXX (i.e forced suicide, made unconscious, slept, etc.). If the latter is true, the subduing procedure could take anywhere for one to four exposures to SCP-XXXX.
Although for higher intelligent organisms, such as humans, it takes long exposure to the morse code to be affected (assuming the high intelligence organism doesn't know morse code), for any simple-minded creature, such as say a sheep, it only takes exposure for 10 minutes. If SCP-XXXX is to control another SCP, containment of the SCP should be the number one priority.
Addendum 4086-1: Incident-XXXX-1A
[START TRANSCRIPT OF AUDIO LOG 4R97B|| 4/██/████]
Dr. V███: Time has clocked in at forty-five minutes past the first interaction with SCP-XXXX.
SCP- 4016 seems to be immune to the effects of SCP-XXXX.
█████: Are you sure? Shouldn't we wait longer to see if the effect kicks in? We've never tried it on an object SCP before you know.
Dr. V███: I'm sure, call a guard and bring SCP-4016 back to containment.
█████: As you wish.
[█████ proceeds to open the chamber door, security personnel nearby.]
█████: SCP-4016, back to containment.
[SCP-4016 proceeds to [REDACTED]]
Guard: Dr. V███ please leave the premises immediately!
Guard: Get me backup!
[audio skips exactly 14 hours]
Dr. V███: Note that SCP-XXXX can influence anything that is considered sentient. It should be considered top priority to keep SCP-XXXX from interacting with any SCP. After the incident with █████, we need to be cautious.
