Description: SCP-XXXX is a German 15 cm sFH 18 (15-cm- schwere Feldhaubitze 18) located in ████████, Canada. Outside of its established pattern of behavior, SCP-XXXX has displayed no anomalous properties, and will remain dormant for the majority of the calendar year. The sole period of anomalous behavior demonstrated by SCP-XXXX will occur on the 11th of November of that year, precisely at 1100 hours.

Following it's activation, SCP-XXXX will dispense numerous instances of SCP-XXXX-A-X1 out of its barrel. SCP-XXXX-A-X appear to be birds of the Streptopelia risoria family, with all known instances suffering from albinism. Investigation of SCP-XXXX for a method of storing or dispensing these instances has proven inconclusive, even during it's activation period.

The instances of SCP-XXXX-A will seek out any individuals within its range who meet the following criteria.

  • Have served in the Army, Navy, or Airforce of any known military service
  • Has been involved in active combat during the above service
  • Suffered some kind of grievous physical or psychological trauma
  • Have no living or nearby relatives, or is isolated from their community

If the above criteria are met, an instance of SCP-XXXX-A-X will manifest and travel by air to their current place of residence. Upon the arrival of SCP-XXXX-A-X to its targets residence, it will attempt to make itself known to the person inside, typically by repeatedly flying into windows that the target is closest too until it is allowed inside.

Upon making contact with its target, SCP-XXXX-A-X will remain within arms reach of the individual until the day has passed, after which all instances of SCP-XXXX-A-X will disappear. In the majority of cases, SCP-XXXX-A-X instances have manifested with scraps of paper tied to their legs in the style of a carrier pigeon, which are to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-B-X.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-B-X are letters written to the target of SCP-XXXX-A-X. These letters are addressed to the target, who will recognize the name of the sender, generally as someone they had a close, personal relationship with. Research into the senders of these letters has shown that the names written down belong to individuals who are deceased. The letters show no anomalous features outside of this.

Addendum XXXX-1: The following are a selection of SCP-XXXX-B instances

Addendum XXXX-2: Interview Log XXXX-1

Interviewed: Agent Martinez

Interviewer: Dr. Ghiray

Foreword: Agent Martinez has recently suffered severe injuries to his hands and arms during an attempt to transport SCP-XXXX to Site-██

<Begin Log>

Dr. Ghiray: Good morning Agent Martinez, my name is Dr. Ghiray and I will be conducting an interview with you regarding your recent injuries.

Agent Martinez: Alright Doc.

Dr. Ghiray: Ok, to start off, can you describe what exactly you were doing before the incident occurred?

Agent Martinez: I wasn't doing much of anything, just keeping watch like I was told, y'know? Acting like the good little soldier boy that I am, while a couple of my teammates were trying to get that thing in the back of the truck.

Dr. Ghiray: Ok, and can you describe how you acquired your injuries while doing this?

Agent Martinez: Yeah, a bird did it.

Dr. Ghiray: A bird?

Agent Martinez: That's what I said. Just a little white bird. Steiner started screaming about how it came out of the cannon, so I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to grab the thing.

Dr. Ghiray: And is this when you were injured?

Agent Martinez: Yup, as soon as I had my hands on the thing it just blew up.

Dr. Ghiray: So you're saying the bird… exploded?

Agent Martinez: You're asking some really tough questions, y'know that? But yeah, it exploded. I can't remember much of anything after that on account of being, y'know, blown up, but you can probably tell what kind of damage it did. (Agent Martinez raises his hands, which are both in casts with several fingers being missing)

Dr. Ghiray: I see. Well Agent Martinez, thank you for your time, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Agent Martinez: You too Doc, I'm gonna go beg for some painkillers.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: Following this interview, containment procedures were updated in order to avoid further incidents. Agent Martinez is still in recovery, and will be fitted with prosthetics that will allow him to return to duty.
