Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX is to be disguised as the site of a critical gas leakage, under watch by local authorities. SCP-XXXX is to have 12 heavily armed guards constantly patrolling the interior of the building, and 14 moderately armed guards constantly monitoring the exterior. Rotations of the outer guards occur once every 14 hours, and the interior guard once every 18 hours. Rotations occur replacing 1 guard at a time. Any unauthorized personnel(Level 2 and under)found near the exterior of SCP-XXXX are to be detained for questioning, administered Class-B amnestics and release. Any unauthorized personnel(Level 2 and under)located within the interior are assumed to be deceased, and attempts to search for them will not be authorized. Any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are spotted within the upper 6 levels of SCP-XXXX or outside SCP-XXXX are to be terminated immediately.

24 armed guards are to constantly patrol the fencing of SCP-XXXX, disguised as border patrol. These guards are to be rotated every 6 hours. If any unauthorized personnel are spotted on the border of SCP-XXXX, they are to be detained and administered Class-C amnestics. If any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 are spotted outside SCP-XXXX's fencing, they are to be terminated immediately.

Each one of the aforementioned groups has communication systems turned on at all times. If the communication systems of 1 of the personnel fails, distorts into static, or emits sounds that can be described as backwards, constantly glitching, garbled speech, the personnel is immediately assumed to be deceased, and attempts to search for them will not be authorized.

If the kilometers’ long labyrinth passageways under the warehouse are radically shifted, all personnel will receive a signal that the passageways shifted and the interior guards will be ordered to leave SCP-XXXX. If not all of the personnel can make it out and return to Site 32 within 24 hours, the remaining personnel are assumed to be deceased, and no attempt will be made to search for them. Site 32 will then heavily arm all guards, and quickly prepare the remainder of the interior guards and new guards, and send them back within 12 hours.

If any personnel Level 3 or higher become lost in SCP-XXXX's lower levels, or if a mass containment breach occurs, task force MTF-Theta-32("Biohazard Boys")is to enter into SCP-XXXX's interior, moving as deep as possible before ordered to return by O5 order and retrieving any lost personnel or civilians. Civilians are to be administered Class-A amnestics and released, while any D-Class are to be immediately terminated. If a wide-scale containment breach occurs, Site 32 is to be immediately evacuated for 3 months.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large abandoned warehouse roughly 25 kilometers away from ███████, California, currently known to the public as an warehouse that was abandoned because of a gas leak. The Foundation is currently working on a more explainable cover story, as the gas leak reason has given courageous teenagers from ███████ ample reason to explore the warehouse, causing several (estimated 17) casualties due to both the toxic gas and SCP-XXXX-1 instances. SCP-XXXX covers roughly 500 meters of fenced-off land, holding the large warehouse, a small house and a mailbox. The area also has several thousand canisters and barrels, large cardboard boxes, and is overgrown with foliage of all sorts.

The interior of SCP-XXXX is mostly empty, and the 3 smaller rooms are flooded with steam from an unknown source. The walls of these 3 rooms have copious amounts of melting iron and bromine. The main room has boxes and barrels scattered across the floor, with only a few left standing upright. The ones that are standing upright usually have markings of unknown sources and meaning left on them. There is steam in the main room that rises to a human’s kneecaps. The light fixtures in the main room only poorly illuminate the room, and the 3 smaller ones have no lighting at all. There is a large, rusted trapdoor that rises up to the thighs, making it clearly visible among the steam. The trapdoor is rusted shut, and when opened, it will close itself within 15 seconds of opening, and rust itself shut again.

The underground portion of SCP-XXXX extends nearly 45 meters straight down, and has 15 stories, the first story being the one directly underneath the warehouse, and the 15th at the bottom. The labyrinth structure of SCP-XXXX constantly changes, with some changes more noticeable than others. The first 6 stories are roughly survivable, as the gas only extends to the neck of a normal adult. The gas here is composed of 32% steam, 23% heavy water vapor, 12% gaseous carbon, and trace amounts of fluorine and chlorine. There are only 12 light fixtures total, 2 per floor, and they emit trace amounts of light. The passageways are composed of stone brick and iron. The other 9 floors of SCP-XXXX are much more deadly. The gas here is comprised of 47% chlorine, 34% fluorine, 12% smoke, 5% iodine, 0.5% steam, and trace amounts of alkali metals. The gas rises to the top of the passageways, and the passageways are composed of iron and steel. There is no light, and this place contains SCP-XXXX-1 instances.

SCP-XXXX-1 are vaporous ambush hunters, their colorless bodies taking the form of a hunchbacked adult human with several unnatural changes.

  • Elongated head, hands, feet, arms, and legs.
  • 3 long, bony fingers on each hand.
  • 3 long toes, although it only "stands" on 2.
  • Glowing red eyes.

SCP-XXXX-1 consume prey by sucking them into their gaseous maws, where the prey is [DATA EXPUNGED] within the instance’s body, eventually shrinking into a dried, small husk disposed of by the instance. While an SCP-XXXX-1 instance is “holding” its prey, it cannot attack, as if it is dissipated, its prey will fall out of its gaseous "body". An instance’s eyes have been observed to "solidify" and glow before it attacks. An instance's "body" is composed of 42% arsenic trioxide(gaseous), 32% mercury(gaseous), and trace amounts of chlorine(giving an instance a green tinge) and fluorine.

SCP-XXXX-2 are glowing orbs of light that resemble the description of mythical beings called "will-o-wisps." . Only seen at night, these balls of light cannot do any harm, but instead are used to lure prey towards instances of SCP-XXXX-1. An instance of SCP-XXXX-2 cannot be touched, its body moving out of the way before it is. Any subjects who see SCP-XXXX-2 will be irresistibly attracted to SCP-XXXX-2, mindlessly following SCP-XXXX-2, taking the most direct route to available to SCP-XXXX-2, even if it is obviously dangerous.
Subjects who survive an encounter with an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 report of impossible things, mumbling endlessly about “walking sounds” or “purple waves”, insisting to be brought back to SCP-XXXX-2 whenever possible, and saying that “Only others who have seen the light will understand.” SCP-XXXX-2 instances tend to take the most direct route available to the nearest instance of SCP-XXXX-1, and instances of SCP-XXXX-1 follow the light of the nearest instance of SCP-XXXX-2, if above ground.
