SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a soundproof concrete room with no windows. The statue is not to be exposed to any form of light. SCP-XXXX's containment chamber is to remain closed, the only exception being for testing or its regular cleaning. SCP-XXXX is to be cleaned by two D-Class personnel every two weeks with Windex.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a bronze wolf statue, approximately 1.5 meters in length and 1 meter in height. The statue is in the "howling" position of a wolf. The main wolf portion of the statue is attached to what resembles rocky terrain by the paws. The terrain underneath the statue is at its lowest point by the back paws, and its highest by the front paws. The rocky terrain underneath SCP-XXXX is attached to a steel base which is dyed black. SCP-XXXX is not immune to wear.

When SCP-XXXX is exposed to moonlight, it produces an anomalous howl which can travel approximately 10 meters before fading out. The howl cannot penetrate any surface a non-anomalous wolf's howl wouldn't be able to. The subject that heard the howl fall into a comatose state until the statue is exposed to sunlight, upon which the subject will suddenly experience respiratory failure and suffocate.

SCP-XXXX wears down gradually over time. When the statue reaches a certian point of wear, typically 3 weeks after the statue started wearing down, SCP-XXXX will produce an extremely loud howl. This howl can travel up to three times the distance of a moonlight-induced howl, and can pass through surfaces a moonlight-induced howl can't. After SCP-XXXX has produced the loud howl, it wil begin to repair itself anomalously. SCP-XXXX seems to repair itself fully 2-3 hours after the loud howl. The effects of this howl are the same as a moonlight-induced howl, but the subjects that heard the howl will undergo respiratory failure as soon as the statue repairs itself. The only known way to prevent this is to clean the statue every two weeks with Windex. (See Incident Log XXXX-1)

Addendum XXXX-1, Discovery: SCP-XXXX was originally kept in a government building in Minnesota. When the government building housing SCP-XXXX underwent plans for demolition, a worker from the building reached out to the museum and asked if they would like to buy and preserve it. The museum, being a historical museum, purchased the statue and displayed it near the back. When the museum underwent renovations, the statue and its exhibit was moved near a window. When a worker went to the museum the next day to work, they discovered several dead guards. The worker immediatly called the FBI. The FBI examined the security footage and audio logs and discovered what had happened. When the FBI was able to piece it all together, The Foundation was informed. The Foundation rushed to retrieve it and placed it into temporary containment in a storage closet until proper containment guidelines were able to be written and put into place. After containment was secured, The Foundation administered Class-A amnestics to all museum staff that were directly or indirectly involved. The security cameras containing any appearances of SCP-XXXX were wiped.

Incident Log XXXX-1:

Experiment log XXXX-1:

Test 1

Subject:
D-██████

Procedure:
D-██████ was exposed to SCP-XXXX's howl at 8:32 PM, which is when the moonlight first hit the statue. SCP-XXXX was then put back into its containment chamber before sunlight could hit it. D-██████ was placed into Lab-██ and was monitored constantly.
Results:
When morning came, D-██████ showed no signs of respiratory failure. 2 days went by, at which point D-██████ was still alive. 2 D-Class personnel were sent into SCP-XXXX's containment chamber for its regular cleaning. As soon as the light from the headlamps hit SCP-XXXX, D-██████ underwent respiratory failure and suffocated.

Analysis
SCP-XXXX holds the subject who heard the howl in a comatose state. If no sunlight is provided to SCP-XXXX after an undetermined amount of time, the statue is also affected by artificial light, triggering respiratory failure in any subject held in a comatose state by it at that time.
