Item #: SCP-4986

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4986 should be kept in a 5 m by 5 m by 5 m cell with no windows. Entry is restricted to researchers with Level 3 and above clearance and D-Class personnel being used for tests. SCP-4986 should be given a small baby crib to lay in when it is not being tested.

SCP-4986 should not be exposed to pregnant women when not in a testing environment. If SCP-4986 is exposed to a pregnant women, at least two (2) armed guards must be present.

Description: SCP-4986 is a larger than average human fetus. It appears to have been aborted in the third trimester. It is 40 cm tall and 13 cm wide. SCP-4986 lacks reproductive organs and has no apparent gender. DNA testing to attempt to determine SCP-4986’s gender is pending approval.

SCP-4986 is immobile in its cell almost all the time. SCP-4986 will occasionally cry out words that sound like “Mama” or “Dada”. SCP-4986 is only active when a pregnant woman enters the room. When a woman who is in at least the second trimester of pregnancy enters the room, SCP-4986 will rise and float approximately 1.5 m above the ground and attack the pregnant woman. SCP-4986 will scratch and bite at the woman’s belly until a suitable cavity has been created. Once a cavity that SCP-4986 can fit through has been created, SCP-4986 will enter the woman’s chest and kill the baby inside, either strangling it with its umbilical cord or removing its spinal cord from an incision made in its neck. In 100% of tests, the baby disappears, and it is assumed that SCP-4986 consumes it. After SCP-4986 is alone in the pregnant woman’s stomach, it will seal up the cavity of the woman by unknown means. All blood lost during SCP-4986’s attack will also be replenished.
SCP-4986 will remain dormant inside the host woman’s stomach for 2-5 weeks. During this period, the woman affected will occasionally vomit blood. The woman will feel no pain during these episodes, suggesting that SCP-4986 has the ability to administer a painkiller to its host. After the host period ends, the host woman will die and SCP-4986 will attempt the leave the vaginal canal as if it is being birthed. However, SCP-4986 is too large, and has so far been unable to exit. After approximately 5 hours of trying, SCP-4986 will exit the host woman’s stomach the same way it entered. It will then become dormant again until another pregnant woman enters the room. It is assumed that SCP-4986 will undergo some kind of change after being birthed, possibly becoming a more powerful anomaly.
