Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 12 x 12 x 6 meter cell. In the event personnel are required to enter SCP-XXXX's containment area, at least 2 personnel are to be present within the chamber. At no point should any personnel enter the chamber alone. Security cameras are to be present in SCP-XXXX's containment chamber, and when the cell is occupied by staff, at least 1 member of staff of level 2 clearance or higher is to be watching the cameras from a distance of at least 7 meters from SCP-XXXX. If personnel in the chamber appear to be suffering from the effects of SCP-XXXX, a team of MTF agents are to be called to restrain those infected by the cognitohazard.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a booklet of papers, about 5 cm tall. It has a front cover, also a piece of paper, simply titled "Homework". Tied to SCP-XXXX via a 1 meter long string is a mechanical pencil. All attempts to remove this pencil from SCP-XXXX have failed. SCP-XXXX does not display any physical characteristics which would indicate that it is anomalous. All attempts to damage SCP-XXXX, or tear any of its pages, have been unsuccessful.
If any human gets within approximately 6 meters of SCP-XXXX, the individual will feel a compulsion to complete the problems contained within. The content of SCP-XXXX is inconsistent in content and seems to morph into the type of work the test subject most disliked in school. Thus far, these have included: Calculus, Algebra, Chemistry, Grammar, and Canadian History. The subject will continue to complete problems within SCP-XXXX until forcibly removed from the radius of SCP-XXXX's effect, or the subject collapses of exhaustion. If not removed, the subject will continue the process of completion and collapse until killed via dehydration, as the subjects have refused to halt their work for water.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in Ontario, Canada when a report came in of ████ ███████, a student of ███████ high school, dying after 3 days of attempting to complete a homework packet. When MTF units arrived, they had to forcibly remove ███████ ███████, the victim's mother, from SCP-XXXX. All people exposed to SCP-XXXX, or having memory of ████ ███████ were given Class C amnestics.
Addendum 1: Several pieces of scratch paper were discovered along with SCP-XXXX. These are believed to be written by ████ ███████, the first known victim of SCP-XXXX. The papers contained the following notes:
"I have to get this done"
"I'm so close to the end. I can't take a break now!"
"I CAN'T fail this class"
"What will mom think?"
"Something is seriously wrong here. I can't feel my legs. I can't stop now. I can't stop now. I can't stop now"
Illegible Scribbling
"So THIRSTY"
"I can finish this tonight. I have to finish this TONIGHT"
