Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently kept in a low temperature containment cell at Site-15, locked by a clearance Level 3 security door. Testing on SCP-XXXX is halted until further notice from the Site-15 director. Because of the risk of the server units hosting SCP-XXXX failing, there should always be two (2) or more IT-technicians with Level 3 (or higher) clearance in close proximity of SCP-XXXX's containment cell.

Description: SCP-XXXX is currently thought to be the consciousness of a former humanoid race that has ascended to live in a digital environment on SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-10.

SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-101 are ten (10) regular server units currently hosting SCP-XXXX itself. For unknown reasons Servers 1-10 seem to be able to run indefinitely although lacking a confirmable supply or flow of electricity. The servers were discovered inside of an aluminium casing during construction work at Site-19 (See Addendum XXXX.1 for more information). The casing is non-anomalous. Server-1 is directly connected to an exterior screen and keyboard containing unknown lettering. Visible on the screen are two windows. The operating system is simmilar to that used by the foundation:

  • The window on the top half of the screen is a maintenance window and contains information about the individual servers, going as far as to list temperatures that have been confirmed to be using the Kelvin unit of measurement. This finding helped identify the numeral system used on the keyboard and UI of Server-1: Base-10.
  • The window on the bottom half of the screen is simmilar to a Command Prompt and functions as such with the only addition to this being the ability to communicate with SCP-XXXX. Text typed on the keyboard of Server-1 will appear in the Command Prompt as would be expected. Confirming/Sending the typed text by pressing a button located on the left side of the keyboard is sometimes met with an answer by SCP-XXXX (See Test Logs for more information).

[BEGIN OF EDIT]

ADDED | SCP-XXXX-A is a sensor located inside of Server-1 that has been discovered after the operating system of Server-1 changed to match that of the recently updated to operating system on nearby foundation computer terminals. Its detection range has been determined to be spherical with a radius of roughly five (5) kilometres. SCP-XXXX-A updates the Servers as soon as at least fifty percent (50%) of surrounding computers make significant changes to their software, mainly their operating system. It is unclear wether there is an original operating system or not.

SCP-XXXX-A is believed to have been created in order to make communication with SCP-XXXX as easy as possible for the current generation of humans. Due to the fact that hardware such as the keyboards lettering or layout have not been affected and currently remain in their original state, it is assumed that SCP-XXXX-A is not able to alter physical components of any of the Servers.
