Subject: you know what
this is a joke, right?
After all that work I put into SCP-████ for you. No, for all the work I'm STILL putting into SCP-████ without any credit and you're throwing this nonsense music box that hardly qualifies as an SCP at me? And don't try to tell me this is what I asked for, we both know you just didn't want to do the paperwork for this thing.
You said if I did my work then I could play with the big dogs at Site-19. The fuck happened to our deal?

SCP-XXXX internal mechanism. (TODO: Photoshop out cylinder pins.)
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in Standard Containment Locker #173 at Auxiliary Site-██. Research into the psychological and emotional hazards exhibited by SCP-XXXX has been suspended. Testing of SCP-XXXX is not permitted at this time.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a hand-crank cylinder music box, approximately 5 cm in both length and width, and 4 cm in height. When its crank is rotated by a motor (or through any means other than direct manipulation by a sapient organism), SCP-XXXX produces no sound. However, when a sapient organism operates its crank, SCP-XXXX produces a musical composition which is unique to its current operator.
Music produced by SCP-XXXX is apparently original and is based on the operator's emotional disposition (a cheerful operator receives playful music, a stern operator receives harsh music, etc.). These songs were originally believed to loop continuously while the crank is rotated, however testing has shown that melodies gradually morph over time at rates which vary by individual. In rare occurrences, music produced by SCP-XXXX has undergone spontaneous alterations (including in key or time signature) which were consistent with significant changes in its current operator's long-term emotional state. It is currently unclear whether SCP-XXXX simply responded to emotional changes in its operator or whether it invoked them.
Internally, SCP-XXXX contains a blank cylinder as well as two separate instruments: a standard segmented metal comb (which produces the familiar "plucking" sound of most music boxes), and a harmonica-like device capable of producing sustained notes. Although it can be completely disassembled, SCP-XXXX will not produce music unless the following requirements are met:
- The brass enclosure is completely sealed.
- All original components of SCP-XXXX are present.1
- No foreign objects are installed inside SCP-XXXX.2
Although the nature of SCP-XXXX's potential psychological and emotional hazards is a topic of current research [NOTE: research suspended], it is known that these anomolous effects only influence the current operator and have no effect on bystanders [NOTE: disputed; see Experiment Log XXXX-C]. Currently, no known connections exist between SCP-XXXX and SCP-2519 or SCP-5731.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was constructed in the early 19th century by a Swiss watchmaker currently known only by his first name, Jakob. After his untimely death due to an unknown illness in 18██, Jakob left SCP-XXXX to his wife, Isabelle ████████. In 18██, approximately 12 years after her husband's death, Isabelle passed away under suspicious circumstances,3 having never re-married. After her death, SCP-XXXX was placed in storage and its anomolous properties went unnoticed until it was discovered in 20██, after which both it and Document #XXXX-1 were seized by the Foundation.
