Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: A 2 meter high wall has been built by the Foundation to surround SCP-XXXX in a range of two kilometers. No one is to trespass the wall, regardless of his or her claim and/or security clearance level.
SCP-XXXX is to be constantly monitored by radars situated on nearby islands. Any movement within a 15 kilometers range from the station is to be reported to Area 142, responsible for activating a task force to quickly neutralize any subject near the island, preventing the subject from approaching SCP-XXXX's wall of containment. On the occasion of a successful trespassing, SCP-XXXX-1 is to be terminated upon sight.
The exact location of the island is classified and is to remain unknown to personnel under level 3 security clearance. No experiment is to be done with SCP-XXXX unless approved by the O5 council.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Russian polar station on an uninhabited island, situated in northern Russia. The station appears to be made of metallic bars, although no samples of the material have ever been successfully retrieved from the structure. The structure has in its top what appears to be 4 black speakers and an antenna, neither of which do not seem to transmit any sort of sound or signal wave.
Any subject within a range of 300 meters from SCP-XXXX (called SCP-XXXX's "range of influence") has been observed to suffer from psychologic alterations after the return from the region, referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. After a period of time, which can vary from 1 hour to 3 weeks, SCP-XXXX-1 will feel a strong need to revisit the place, generally fueled by personal reasons, and will influence others around him to go to SCP-XXXX (in the same manner as SCP-XXXX itself did with SCP-XXXX-1), leading to a dangerous chain reaction. Every subject that goes a second time to SCP-XXXX seems to be consumed by a bright light, effectively disappearing. After experiments with Class-D personnel, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX-1's range of influence only grows with time, making it impossible to be contained. For that reason, any occurrence of SCP-XXXX-1 must be terminated immediately.
Multiple drones have been sent to investigate the island, but in every attempt, the drones lose signal after reaching SCP-XXXX's range of influence. There is still no explanation for that, as SCP-XXXX does not emit any type of signal wave.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX was discovered by a group of 12 independent Russian researchers in 1994, when studying polar wildlife. After its return, the group quickly started suffering from SCP-XXXX's effect.
Joseph Dvirknov, a member of the team, was the first recorded victim of SCP-XXXX. 1 week after the return of the group, Joseph felt the need to go back to the region claiming that "his dad was waiting for him", influencing 3 others into going with him, as it was later reported by his coworkers to the local police. One day after their scheduled return, the four subjects were reported missing, as no one was able to contact them. In the following days, more members of the team started making up various reasons and convincing others to go back to SCP-XXXX. Before the Foundation was able to intervene, there were already 138 deaths.
