Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: ████ Highway is to be monitored and maintained by a Foundation front company that specializes in construction. Large protective railings have been erected on the coastal side of ████ Highway, and must be fully inspected once every month for signs of deterioration. If any cars manage to breach the railings, the Head Researcher assigned to SCP-XXXX should be alerted as soon as possible

Any ships coming within 6 kilometers of SCP-XXXX must be intercepted and redirected.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a structure that outwardly resembles a conventional power plant. It is estimated at 20 meters in height, with a base of 40 by 80 meters. 5 power lines emerge from various parts of SCP-XXXX, and are embedded in the ground around it. SCP-XXXX has only one visible exit, which is only opened during a XXXX-Theta event. Several translucent windows are visible, and give off a soft gray light.

SCP-XXXX is located just off the coast of South Africa, at a depth of approximately 60 meters. It is firmly embedded in the sea floor, and shows no sign of degradation. When a human or manned vehicle approaches within 20 meters of SCP-XXXX, a flashing red light appears in the windows of SCP-XXXX, and the entire structure appears to dissolve. If the area where SCP-XXXX disappeared from remains unobserved for 1-3 hours, it will reappear.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a humanoid entity that resides within SCP-XXXX. It takes the appearance of a middle-aged human male of local African descent wearing a tattered business suit. SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be selectively incorporeal, and is able to maneuver in the water around SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 is speculated to be Robert █████, a failed entrepreneur who disappeared several months before SCP-XXXX was first discovered.

SCP-XXXX is linked with an anomaly associated with ████ Highway, a commonly used highway that travels very closely along the coast near it. ████ Highway has had an abnormally large number of car accidents since its construction in 20██, all of which resulted in the vehicle and driver ending up in the ocean near to SCP-XXXX.

Whenever a human corpse enters the ocean within a 5 kilometer radius of SCP-XXXX, a XXXX-Theta event will take place. SCP-XXXX-1 will emerge from SCP-XXXX's exit, and will move towards the cadaver. Once it arrives, SCP-XXXX-A will produce three unknown metallic devices from its suit. It will arrange these devices around the body, and manipulate the devices until the body glows with a gray outline. The flesh of the body will slowly dissolve into the water, leaving behind an SCP-XXXX-A instance.

SCP-XXXX-A instances are the animate skeletons of bodies SCP-XXXX-1 affects. SCP-XXXX-A appear sentient, and move in a manner similar to SCP-XXXX-1. Immediately after manifestation, SCP-XXXX-1 will escort the SCP-XXXX-A instance across the ocean floor, and eventually inside SCP-XXXX.

Based on the assumption that SCP-XXXX can only detect organic life, a Tameron-class amphibious surveillance drone was fitted with a video camera and sent to enter SCP-XXXX during the period in a XXXX-Theta event where the door was opened.

VIDEO LOG

[BEGIN LOG]

03:30: SCP-XXXX-1 is seen escorting a SCP-XXXX-A instance through the doorway. The drone enters, seemingly unnoticed. The interior of SCP-XXXX appears to be a long series of concrete chambers, with wires leading from each chamber to other parts of the facility.

04:13: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-A walk past several dozen chambers. Each chamber has a metal door with a red light.

05:44: After walking past several dozen chambers, SCP-XXXX-1 notices a chamber with a green light. The door opens and a long mechanical crank attached to a large mechanical device is visible in the center of the room. An electrical wire connects it with the wall. SCP-XXXX-1 appears to instruct SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX-A slowly grabs hold of the crank and begins turning it.

06:16: SCP-XXXX-1 walks out of the room, talking to itself.

SCP-XXXX-1: "Ahhh, more and more tireless, needless workers. At this rate-"

SCP-XXXX-1 notices the drone

SCP-XXXX-1: "What is- Damnit, I can't be shut down now!"

SCP-XXXX-1 retrieves what appears to be a modern smartphone from its suit and manipulates it

[END LOG]

At this point, all contact was lost with the drone, and SCP-XXXX dissolved into the water. Notably, it took over a week to reappear, and when another drone was sent for further exploration, SCP-XXXX dissolved shortly after the drone was able to establish visual contact.
