Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently contained in a containment cell on site 73/17 (Will decide based on containment knowledge). Personnel are required to enter the containment cell with caution to avoid distress of the entity.
Personnel are permitted a maximum of 120 90 minutes of continuous contact with SCP-XXXX per day.

Personnel who exhibit emotional attachment on SCP-XXXX are to be removed from the containment and monitored for 72 hours.
If the personnel exhibits separation anxiety from SCP-XXXX after the allotted time, the personnel is prohibited from interacting with SCP-XXXX and is to be transferred to a separate site immediately.

Due to increased stress when in an open environment for a prolonged period of time, SCP-XXXX is provided with a raised cot for it to hide under.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a male quadruped organic entity with an inferior body region that of a centaur, measuring 187cm from the head to the anterior feet, and 92cm from inferior shoulders to hind haunches.
Although the inferior body region superficially resembles a centaur, the inferior structure shares little physiological characteristics with horses.

Its face is a mask structure resembling a stylized skull, exhibiting the texture of paper mache. Despite the inorganic texture, the material is organic and attached to the entity's body.
It has 5 cm long dark grey fur with a band of 10 cm long white fur around its neck and large, wing like dorsal structures, resembling that of moth wings with a wingspan of 283 cm. Along with the wing structures, it also has two large, frilled antennae that resemble moth antennae.
Despite the dorsal structure's similarity to moth wings, SCP-XXXX is incapable of flight. It instead uses the structures to shroud itself while in distress, laying down onto the floor and draping the structures over itself like a blanket while shivering.

Its anterior legs on its inferior structure have a large build, with three cloven hoof-like claws on its feet. Its posterior legs have a thin build, ending at small points.
Its superior arms have a large build, similar to its inferior structure anterior legs. Its hands are similar to Procyon lotor (raccoon) paws, capable of handling objects but lacking opposable thumbs.

Despite the entity's appearance and stature, it is sapient and exhibits the psychological capacity of a human child, having the mental and emotional development of approximately 4-5 years of age. It is capable of understanding and following basic instructions as well as communicating through body language and vocalization tones.
It is incapable of speaking. However, it communicates through vocalized "chirps" and "honks" similar to that of a juvenile Ateles (Spider Monkey). It has a considerable range of emotional and vocal expressions, allowing it to communicate its emotional state as well as basic needs.
It also has a persistant desire to interact with enrichment materials and perform enrichment activities. It takes pleasure in "playing" with the agents that it recognizes who have entered its containment before.

SCP-XXXX produces a high pitch frequency from its antennae when around people, although the entity does not recognize that it is producing this frequency. Although inaudible to the human ear, the frequency triggers a protective and nurturing reaction in humans.
The longer a human is exposed to the frequency produced by SCP-XXXX, the more protective of the entity they become. When a person is "imprinted" on by SCP-XXXX, the entity exhibits a surprised response and expresses high amounts of pleasant vocalization and positive expressions.
It is to be inferred that SCP-XXXX does not realize that it causes humans to respond to it in a positive and nurturing manner, and instead believes that people enjoy taking care of it.

When introduced to unfamiliar areas or humans, SCP-XXXX reacts negatively, attempting to hide around objects or under its wing structures.

SCP-XXXX was discovered in a densly wooded area located in rural [REDACTED], United States by Agent ███████. Initial attempts to contain the entity failed. SCP-XXXX was successfully captured after Agent ███████ was able to coax the entity out of the woods using [DATA EXPUNGED].

Addendum-XXXX-1: Attempts to interact with SCP-XXXX with intent to restrain cause the entity to become significantly distressed, resulting in high pitched vocalizations similar to that of a Lepidobatrachus (Budgett's Frog).

Addendum-XXXX-2: Dr. ████████ provided SCP-XXXX with several enrichment materials.

These materials include:

  • A set of foam based child's building blocks
  • A child's toy drum
  • A child's educational coloring book with three wax based non-toxic crayons
  • A child's stuffed toy based on [REDACTED].

SCP-XXXX took interest in the enrichment materials, focusing intently on the auditory stimulus from the toy drum.

It attempted to use the crayons with the coloring book, but became frustrated, as it could not grip the crayons properly.
It responded with distress, producing loud vocalizations and flailing its limbs before Dr. ████████ sated it with the stuffed toy.
The coloring book and crayons were removed from the containment cell.

The entity took pleasure in building small structures with the foam building blocks and subsequently knocking them over.

SCP-XXXX displayed no other form of violent or disturbed tendencies.

Addendum-XXXX-3: Experiment Log XXXX-01

D-36 was instructed to remain in the containment cell of SCP-XXXX for 300 minutes. After the test time concluded, D-36 exhibited adamant refusal to exit the containment cell, choosing instead to remain close to SCP-XXXX. D-36 was physically removed from the containment cell and monitored for the required 72 hours.

After the initial 72 hour time period, D-36 exhibited substantial distress, attempting to escape his holding cell to reach the containment cell of SCP-XXXX.
D-36 was transferred to [REDACTED] and is currently undergoing psychological evaluation to further understand the effects of SCP-XXXX frequency imprinting.

SCP-XXXX reacted negatively to the separation. The entity attempted to follow D-36 outside of the containment before being escorted back into its containment.
Following the separation, SCP-XXXX produced loud vocalizations and secreted a black liquid from its eyes, presumably tears.
120 minutes after the separation, SCP-XXXX ceased its display when it was provided its evening feeding.

Addendum-XXXX-4: Experiment Log XXXX-02

D-1538 was instructed to remain in the containment cell of SCP-XXXX for 24 hours, and was to maintain continuous physical or verbal contact with the entity.

D-1538 was apprehensive when first entering the containment, stating several explicit comments upon entering.
SCP-XXXX appeared to take immediate interest in D-1538, attempting physical contact with the subject and performing high frequency vocalizations.
Following the first 120 minutes of contact, the subject began to exhibit the effects of the entity's frequencies.
The subject became moderately infatuated with SCP-XXXX, maintaining physical contact with the entity by stroking its fur and face.
SCP-XXXX responded with positive behavior, performing pleasured vocalizations.

The following significant events occured during the experiment.

  • 5 hours: SCP-XXXX attempted to 'play' with D-1538, offering its provided enrichment materials.

D-1538 built a small and insignificant structure out of the toy building blocks.
SCP-XXXX knocked over the block structure, seemingly entertained, performing a wide range of clicks, chirps, and honks.

  • 12 hours: D-1538 fell asleep, laying with SCP-XXXX on its provided raised cot. SCP-XXXX displayed significant trust in D-1538.
  • 20 hours: D-1538 willingly fed SCP-XXXX its morning nutrition substance via mastication and simulated regurgitation.

SCP-XXXX appeared to take pleasure in the feeding activity, rubbing its face on the subject.

  • 24 hours: The experiment time had completed. D-1538 was forcibly removed from the containment, requiring four armed guards to detain and remove D-1538.

D-1538 attempted to attack the guards, resulting in several minor lacerations on three of the four guards before the subject was sedated.
SCP-XXXX exhibited displays of significant distress, vocalizing loud honks similar to that of a distressed juvenile chimpanzee.

Following the experiment, D-1538 was isolated and monitored for 72 hours. D-1538 displayed high levels of stress, including pacing the holding cell and repeatedly attempting to slam against the cell door.
The subject's behavior had not ceased after the initial 72 hours, and was transferred to [REDACTED] to undergo continued psychological evaluation.
D-1538 has been reported to exhibit extreme separation anxiety and has reported nightmares featuring violent imagery of SCP-XXXX seemingly in dangerous situations.

SCP-XXXX reacted negatively to the separation following the experiment. Initially, the entity expressed non-distressed confusion.
This reaction was followed by a positive response, with the entity attempting to search its containment for the missing subject.
After an initial 10 minutes of searching, SCP-XXXX became visibly distressed, searching the containment in a more frantic attempt, producing distressed, high pitched vocalizations.
After approximately 4 hours, SCP-XXXX ceased its searching and sat in the middle of its containment, shrouded by its wing structures, for 16 consecutive hours. The entity refused to eat during its evening feeding.
SCP-XXXX fell asleep in the same spot 5 hours later, seemingly from exhaustion.

SCP-XXXX awoke at ██00 the following day, expressing a lack of its frequently positive disposition.

SCP-XXXX reverted back to its initial positive disposition when agents entered its containment for a cell sweep and did not express its post-experiment negative reaction after the agents left.

Addendum-XXXX-5: Experiment Log XXXX-03

D-567 was instructed to remain in the containment cell of SCP-XXXX for 168 hours.

D-567 displayed similar behavior to the results of the previous experiment. After the experiment time had completed, the subject was removed by force from the containment cell.
D-567 successfully attacked 4 of the 6 guards assigned for removal, resulting in the hospitalization of [REDACTED] as well as significant lacerations on 3 of the guards before the subject was successfully sedated.
SCP-XXXX reacted negative to the separation following the experiment, attempting to follow the subject from the room and producing high pitched vocalizations for approximately 50 consecutive hours before it was sedated to prevent bodily damage.
Upon awakening after 72 hours, SCP-XXXX expressed confusion, searching its containment cell before losing focus during morning feeding.

All further studies based on the effects of prolonged exposure to SCP-XXXX are to be terminated.

All further studies are to be discontinued indefinitely.

Addendum-XXXX-6: Incident Report XXXX-01
During a routine containment sweep, Dr. █████████ deliberately locked the containment cell of SCP-XXXX while still inside, refusing to exit the containment cell.
Dr. █████████ reinforced the containment entrance in an attempt to prevent entry. [DATA EXPUNGED] was called to escort Dr. █████████ from the cell, resulting in █ hospitalizations caused by Dr. █████████.
Dr. █████████ has been removed from the facility and has been terminated.
SCP-XXXX sustained no injuries, but exhibited high levels of stress during the incident, exhibiting a fearful and confused reaction to Dr. █████████, producing a high pitched, panicked cry.

Following the incident, SCP-XXXX expressed a fearful reaction towards agents who entered its containment, to the point of unconsciously terminating its frequencies.
One week following the incident, SCP-XXXX continued to produce its frequencies and no longer exhibits a fear reaction towards humans.

Continuous contact time limit to be reduced to 90 minutes per day to avoid any further incident that would result in a similar reaction.
