Object Class: Safe

SCP-XXXX in containment.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in any room provided with a typical 15-amp power outlet. Any attempt of transporting SCP-XXXX should be handled with insulated gloves in a 2 inch (minimum) thick light-proof box. Any experiment with SCP-XXXX should consist of at least 2 authorized staff in the event of an emergency. All personnel in the experiment are suggested to wear protective tinted eye-wear, insulated jumpsuits, and insulated gloves.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 14 inch, goose-neck desk lamp with a non-removable light bulb (presumably a 60 W Type A Medium Base Bulb) and a removable black plastic lamp cover. The base of the lamp is a black plastic that holds the flexible metallic neck.

Once SCP-XXXX is powered on via being properly plugged into the specified wall outlet and having the power switch set to “on”, the object emits a pure white color that freezes the surface that is in contact of the light. Any material in contact with the beam is frozen solid at atomic levels. Once a surface is exposed for 5-10 minutes, the surface will stop freezing over. During and after experiments with the freezing process, SCP-XXXX’s bulb will be completely clear of any crystallized ice formed on or around itself.

During experiments, the beam cover of the lamp must not be removed without authorization, as it can freeze anything the light contacts with. Glass experiments with this procedure have proven to act similar to a sun-beam going through a piece of glass. Any part of the beam escaping through glass and being within a certain radius will effect the severity of the freezing process (furthest being a minor feeling of "chills" and the closest being frozen solid).
