SCP-XXXX-1 ignited by SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX-1 is to never be in close proximity to flammable material outside of testing. SCP-XXXX-1 is currently stored in a 1 m³ hermetically sealed iron locker.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon that ignites flammable material lacking a melting point in 100 kPa in opposite conditions to natural fire. Even in the absence of oxygen, such objects combust via anomalous oxidation producing a fire with green flames. Flammable Surfaces in immediate proximity of this oxidation are permanently affected by SCP-XXXX, followed by near instant ignition. The spread rate and range of SCP-XXXX increases linearly with cold.

Like natural fire, SCP-XXXX depletes oxygen and vaporizes water, making it especially lethal to most organisms. SCP-XXXX does not produce heat, making damage solely inflicted by chemical reactions.

SCP-XXXX-1 is an oak log affected by SCP-XXXX and is currently the only affected object in containment after incident [REDACTED].

Addendum-XXXX-A: Discovery and Recovery Log
SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered on ██/██/████ after the Foundation recieved unusual █ at █. Mobile Task Force █-█ ("█") was sent to investigate the area and found █ to be in the process of melting despite freezing temperatures upon arrival. █ has since been repurposed as Outpost 143.

Method of retrieval consisted of making a makeshift bonfire out of spruce(repeatedly lighting matches and keeping them in contact with SCP-XXXX-1) to successfully keep it extinguished and negate anomalous ignition.
