Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: No less than 6 boats must be patrolling a 2km radius around SCP-XXXX at any moment. GPS maps are to be altered removing SCP-XXXX from the globe. Protected cameras must monitor areas within SCP-XXXX to watch for any changes in the weather. Nobody must be allowed to enter within a 1km range of SCP-XXXX at any time unless it is for testing purposes.
Description: SCP-XXXX describes an Island in the pacific ocean located at (blank) longitude and (blank) latitude, measuring approximately 6 square kilometers. The Island itself is surrounded in a faint green mist at all times. Despite being a tropical island, there exist no e̶x̶o̶t̶i̶c̶ animals or exotic vegetation on the island. The fog is described in various ways from various different people, with some describing it as eerie. This is believed to be a natural reaction. Nearing the center of the island, exists a stone pole with a cow skull impaled on the top of it, with text engraved in the pole reading “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
The anomalous properties manifest e̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶2̶2̶ ̶-̶ ̶2̶7̶ ̶d̶a̶y̶s̶ once a month, when human remains and cadavers (designated as SCP-XXXX-1) rain from the sky. This rain is designated as SCP-XXXX-2. The source of SCP-XXXX-1 is currently unknown. Analysis of the instances have revealed that they are of people that are currently alive. Various autopsies on instances of SCP-XXXX-1 has shown that each instance was killed via incineration. One week after the “rain day”, all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are removed from the island by an unknown manner. Video feed has shown that this process is sudden, with the instances s̶e̶e̶m̶i̶n̶g̶l̶y̶ ̶d̶i̶s̶a̶p̶p̶e̶a̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶i̶r̶ (See Addendum XXXX-1). Research has shown however, that instances that weigh less than 700 grams are not removed from the island. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Eyes
- Fingers and toes
- Blood and various bodily substances
- Ears
- Tongues
It is currently believed that instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are from an alternative universe, with a potential space time anomaly existing above the island at an unknown height. It is also believed that a memetic hazard exists on the island while SCP-XXXX-2 is occurring (See audio log VI).
SCP-XXXX was discovered after a report of a plane crashing from “Corpses falling from the sky” surfaced at an airport in (redacted) Hawaii. Airport workers were given Class A amnestics and dismissed, and the issue was covered up as a severe and unpredicted lightning storm.
The audio logs below are from a foundation expedition to the island for research. The goal was to set up camp for two months, and document what occurred.
Krieg: "Day 1, this island is creeping me the fuck out. You'd think this being a tropical island there would be exotic plant life and animals, but so far I've seen shit that doesn't even belong on this part of the planet. Oak trees, various daisies, and I'm still yet to see an animal on this uninhabited island. As if the ominous green fog wasn't creepy enough, I've noticed some of the lakes and ponds here have blood and fingers in them. Paul went to go explore the rest of the island with Tanner, while me and Isaac set up a base here. It's about 4 PM right now."
Krieg pauses for a brief moment
Krieg: "I only brought 20 tapes to record with me, and I've already used one. I'll only record logs for events I or we feel are significant. This is Krieg ████, signing off for today."
Recording ends
Krieg: "Day 3, yesterday Paul and Tanner told me and Isaac about this pole in the middle of the island with a cow's skull on it. We went with them today and sure enough, we saw it. This place is creeping me the fuck out day by day. In my last log I believe I mentioned I couldn't find any animals on this island, well I still haven't, but now there's a cow's skull on a pole. When I was there I noticed some text engraved on the pole. I can't remember specifically what it said, but it had something to do with rapists or murderers being, like, incinerated or some shit. It was poetic in the sense as well. Apparently I was the first to notice this, as Tanner and Paul claimed they hadn't seen it before. Aside from all the disturbing shit going around here, this Island is pretty boring with no wildlife here. It's been 3 days, I feel like I'm going to go insane playing Go Fish for another 58. This is Krieg ████, Signing off."
Recording ends
Krieg: " Day 7, I tried going swimming in one of the larger ponds on the island today. Big mistake. I walked about a meter in, before I felt something stab my foot. I looked down and saw broken ribs, as well as teeth embedded like stones in the sand, pieces of what I believe is a spine. Shit scared the fuck out of me. It also hurt like hell. I've been sitting in the base all day recovering, Tanner says I'll probably be recovering for the next few days."
Krieg pauses for a few seconds
Krieg: "In hind sight I feel like a retard. I know people who lost limbs to things like SCP-███, yet here I am, recovering from stepping on a human rib."
Krieg pauses again, shorter this time
Krieg: "Isaac, remember that time you thought it would be a good idea to walk into one of SCP-4303's traps to 'see what would happen'?"
**Isaac: **(Laughing while talking) "Yeah"
Krieg: "That was so fucking stupid"
Recording ends
Kreig: "Day 12, Paul was the one to point this out. It has been cloudy every single day we have been on this island. Despite this, it has only rained once, during day 9, for about 8 hours. My foot has partially healed, and I can walk again without it hurting. Never god damn going in the water in this place again. As for anomalous behavior, other than this place being weird as fuck, nothing is of too much interest. Other than the human remains scattered around the island in the water, and the lack of wildlife and exotic plant life in a tropical island, nothing about this place is too paranormal. We've still just been playing cards and telling stories to pass the time. I suppose I was the guinea pig for testing the waters, as ever since I got wounded swimming has been out of the question. The foundation sent us here to find the source of the human remains, but we've searched all over this damn place and we've found nothing. This is Krieg ████, signing off for today."
Recording ends
Krieg: "Day 20. It's been a while since I last did an audio log, but it is nice to know we are one third done with this mission. These last few days have been slightly warmer than the last few, and there has been noticeably more activity from insects. Too bad we can't go swimming. This green fog still hasn't let up since we got here, and we still haven't seen any sun. Yesterday night, me and Tanner didn't sleep. We searched the island with flashlights to see if the source of the remains came from something at night. Nothing. We didn't find any animals either. The center pole, as we have been referring to it now, is unchanged. Despite this, it was still unnerving as hell. The green mist is creepy enough during the day, but at night when the darkness obscures vision by itself, fuck."
Krieg briefly pauses
Krieg: "Speaking of insects, I know it is a bit late to mention this, but there is no exotic insect life here, either. Spiders are found the size of fingernails, caterpillars are eating plants, and there are several beehives located across the island. Aside from large flies eating away at the human remains, that's it. If someone told me this Island was in like, Massachusetts or something, I would believe them. But this is in the middle of nowhere in the pacific ocean. "
Krieg briefly pauses again
Krieg: "This is Krieg ████, signing off."
Recording ends
Faint thumping is heard in the background
Kreig: (In a much more awakened tone than previous logs) "Day 24, we finally found where the human remains are coming from, you may be able to hear it, but it is currently down pouring corpses. The damn stench is terrible, Isaac threw up from it, and I feel like I might too. I don't think the base was made to handle bodies falling onto it from the sky, but it seems to be holding well. I'm looking out the door right now, this rain has been going on all day, and it doesn't look like it will let up soon. We can't sleep it out either because the thumping on the damn roof is so loud. We've all bee-"
A gargling noise is heard outside, and Krieg stops abruptly
Krieg: "The fuck was that?"
He stops again, and creaking can be heard from Kreig adjusting his position
Krieg: (Panicked screaming) "OH DEAR GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING"
The gargling becomes much louder, Krieg and Paul can be hear screaming, and then the recording ends
75 days after the expedition, agents went to the island and found various body parts in the base, but none of the expedition members were found.
Notes: Jesus, at least we know where the remains come from now - Dr. ████████.
Addendum XXXX-B1: Exploration of the water around the island has revealed an abyss of undetermined depth. Waterproof cameras placed near the entrance to the abyss has shown instances of SCP-XXXX-1 teleport near the top of the abyss and sink. However, no blood or bodily fluids float to the top or mix in the water during this process.
