Item #: SCP-5353
Object Class: Explained
Disclaimer: SCP-5353 is an electronic cell phone, resembling a 5th Generation Ipod Touch created by Apple. It was originally found in Massachusetts in the 1930’s and was brought to Site-15. Due to cell phones not being invented until 1973, and this type of cell phone not being announced until 2012; this one was considered anomalous. It wasn’t until 2013 where this SCP was considered explained and taken out of Site-15. The following is the old document for SCP-5353.
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5353 is to be kept in a standard containment locker at all times of the day. Researchers are allowed into SCP-5353’s locker through 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as SCP-5353 starts to produce a loud ringing noise at that time, which effects are unknown. No other personnel are permitted to enter SCP-5353’s locker unless given permission by the Site Director.
Description: SCP-5353 is a small electronical device of unknown origin. On its front is a sheet of glass and the back is covered in a blue metal covering. Below the glass is a round indent with a square symbol engraved on it. On each side of SCP-5353 are tiny square extrusions which can be pushed into the body of the device. Once one of these extrusions is pushed, the glass front starts producing light, showing the time, the date, and “Press Home to Unlock”. When it says “Home” it means the round indent on the front, and when pushed, the device changes to show small squares with different symbols. A few of those symbols are familiar objects, but most of them are unidentifiable. Before anything could be tested, SCP-5353’s lights went out and wouldn’t turn back on. It is unknown why this happened.
Addendum: Though SCP-5353 anomalous nature was mistaken, there is no explanation to how it ended up in 1937.
