Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in it's boxset case and kept in a standard locker in Site-XX. SCP-XXXX-1 may be requested for viewing by any personnel, though SCP-XXXX-2 is not to leave the locker.
Description: SCP-XXX is a DVD double-set, of Hollywood films "Now You See Me" (SCP-XXXX-1) and "Now You See Me 2" (SCP-XXXX-2), although the 2nd DVD is mis-titled to "Now You Don't" in all instances in which it appears.
SCP-XXXX-1 has no anomalous properties, and can be played as a standard DVD. SCP-XXXX-2 will play normally for anywhere between 10-20 minutes before freezing suddenly and showing a black screen. On freezing, SCP-XXXX-2 will disappear from any player and re-appear in the boxset case. It is impossible to fast-forward SCP-XXXX-2 or to start it from anywhere beside its beginning.
The freezing effect seems to be impacted by the emotional connection of the viewer to the film, and will last longer the more emotionally drawn in the viewer is. However testing has shown that the DVD will still freeze within the first 20 minutes when not observed.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX was discovered after a prison riot in █████ prison, ██████. Prison staff reportedly found the boxset in some abandoned personal effects, and decided to include the DVDs in their fortnightly Movie Monday. SCP-XXXX-1 was reportedly enjoyed by many inmates, though when SCP-XXXX-2 was to be viewed two weeks later, the repeated freezing and disappearing was considered a prank by the inmates, who reacted initially with frustration but later with violence. Agency Staff arrived on the scene, quelled the riot, and discovered SCP-XXXX to be the cause.
Testing of SCP-XXXX-2 did not indicate that viewing increases emotional response, besides the expected frustration.
